Yes. Very strong.
Do you? Remember "his dad LOVES Rick Ray" according to you.
Why shouldn't we?

Apparently you didn't read "his Dad's" quotes about Rick Ray after getting fired.

Remember memphis you felt very strong about Leo Lewis and eventually Jamal Peters.

So you were wrong and lying the entire time then, which is it?

He had very good things to say about Ray. Something along the lines of.... Felt Ray could have turned it around with 1 more year, with the experienced players State has coming back.

I did. But also I doubt Malik wants to play on an NIT at best team, when he has the chance not only to start, but help LSU to another Final Four, and possibly a NC.
If Mickey returns, LSU is set up for a major run next year. State is only set up for a major letdown.
LSU can offer him the best of both worlds. The elite company and championship caliber surrounding teammates, closeness to home and his mother, plus immediate starting role. Also with our depth at guard(Gray, Quaterman, Hornsby, and Patterson) he won't be on tired legs come the final minutes.
Why do you all a sudden feel you are in a better position?
Because you will hire an ex UCLA and LSU assistant that had a father who ran the AAU circuit in ATL? AAU is quickly becoming obsolete, if it hasn't already, with the camp circuits. In his time at LSU the best ATL talent he got us were two 3 stars that transferred out after a year.
So yes, I still feel very good about LSU's position.

Sorry Klongdome, you were all up in that thread, so I thought I remembered it being you that posted it.
Ftr LSU is looking at Rick Ray as a possible assistant to replace Musselman. His job will be to say "Yes, coach Jones"

He got you Quarterman and Patterson.

No, he didn't. Quarterman was committed before McCray.
Common misconception.
From the ATL Celtics all LSU got was Delwan Grahm and Dennis Harris. AAU isn't even close to the camp circuit nowadays.

And Patterson?
Its all about the shoe companies now.
If your are Nike. You have a leg up.
If you're Adidas or UA. You're a step behind.
If you're Russell like Georgia Tech you are beyond screwed.

Just curious how you think LSU is a final four contender when you have a coach that couldn't coach his way out of a brown paper bag?
Posted on 3/26/15 at 8:40 am to Gotta have DeZeier
Exactly. Malik is a Nike Kid. Regardless how much state fans insist otherwise, he's a continuous part of the Nike camp circuit. He has taken small part in UA and Addias, but even his Jackson AAU team is Nike.
Some say Nike is also why Blakney decommitted from louisville.

Jones is a product of Dale Brown. Their styles of play are one I. The same. Growing up I remember being very excited and frustrated with brown's style. Defense was nonexistent most cases. At the same time though we saw improvment. With Jones he has gradually gotten better each year. Now in 16 we will have a roster with elite talent, plus depth. A lot of depth. I'm not holding Quarterman and Mickey missing 6 FT's in the final minutes against Jones. Not fouling Auburn in the final seconds, and losses to bottem dwelling SEC teams are completely on him.
We saw dramatic improvement in Quarterman, Mickey, and Martin's games. They were our only returning contributers from a year ago. So all the current pieces with another year in the system and the addition of a top 5 class leaves me rather optimistic about our chances of another Final 4.
Make sense?

Huh?
Quarterman committed on 9/30/2012, McCray didn't even join the program until the following summer well after Quarterman was already signed.
