Devonta is going to Bama he has a better chance to start there. LSU is so stacked at reciever 5 stars can't even see the playing field.

Devonta Smith wouldn't even be Alabama's highest rated WR in this class, let alone start over Calvin Ridley and Robert Foster (who were 5-stars coming out of high school).

ETA: Even after editing you still can't spell receiver right so you're a moron in life as well as analyzing football.

I presume this recruit is Bama bound. Is Auburn in the picture?

No. His final three are Alabama, LSU and Miami.

LSU is just too stacked at this position imo. Just too much imo

No offense, but who exactly are you stacked with?

Look at LSUs depth chart. I'm no expert. But 5* are beginning to transfer out due to depth.

I think that has more to do with that 5-star not being as good as his ranking. I mean he was passed up by a guy who was the #64 ranked WR in the Class of 2014.

DJ Chark

ETA: Travin Dural is a Senior. Malachi Dupre is a Junior who may leave early if he has a big year. It appears the LSU depth chart at WR would be much easier for Smith to overcome than Alabama's.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking your receiving corp. Just pointing out the depth chart argument doesn't hold water.

Look at Bama's depth chart, it is stacked with players who have actually played like 5*'s in college games.

DJ Chark would have shot up the ratings if he didn't shut down his recruitment early. He went to camps at Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and LSU in consecutive weeks and earned an offer at each camp.

I'll take your word for it. I haven't seen him play.

However, he's a Junior too. With a big year he may bolt as well which would be another empty spot on your WR depth chart.

So you guys could potentially lose 3 WRs to the draft, most likely just two, yet your depth chart is too stacked for another 5-star WR?

ETA: I see some posters on your recruiting board predict that he would transfer after a year due to your depth chart.

So the #2 ranked WR in the country, who killed it at the Opening against the country's best DBs, would be more apt to transfer than the #12 (Ausbon) and #36 (Netherly) ranked WRs?

I used 247's rankings FWIW, not the Composite. ESPN has Smith ranked so low it's laughable, which brings his ranking way down. He's #6 in the Composite. Ausbon is #11 and Netherly is #31.

All of Bama's starting WR could be back next year. Smith has a better chance at getting on the field at LSU next year then Bama, but he is still coming to Bama.
Must suck for LSU, with Bama stealing a great WR from LSU's backyard, but Saban has been doing it for years now so I guess LSU is used to it by now.

Commits this year:
Jhamon ausbon
Mannie Netherly
Stephen Guidry

Depth:
Dural
Derrick Dillion
Dupree
Drake Davis
Chark
Dee Anderson
Ferguson
Stephen Sullivan

Transfers:
Spears
Quinn
T. Johnson
J. Diarse

We are fine at WR but I'm not going to say I wouldn't like to add smith because he is a monster. But as we all know you can't get everyone you want.

Finally saw this kid in person. He looks pretty smooth running routes and catching the ball.

He's one of the best receives in this class. Bama will get him, but LSU will be fine with the guys we have and those committed.

I still want Nico and Riggs in this class, but Smith likely changes that.
