Isn't that what you are saying as well? Only the AU side is accurate? Pot meet kettle.

I also noticed that players messed with AU but no AU poster ever mentioned an AU player that screwed over another team. Of course it was mentioned that no AU poster ever said it only happened to AU. Still waiting on a name.

Yeah. Evans really fricked them over, but look at Roberts as a shining example for how to handle recruitment. The only difference in their recruitments was timing and destination.

And with timing, Braden Smith sure screwed over the TCU staff by waiting until NSD to decide, but we will never hear that from the AUbs.

No show me where I have said our side is the only correct story. Show me a post where I said you were wrong (Other than I got sucked into the Evans to AU, I should have stuck with my gut feeling). I take all stories with a grain of salt and know there are inaccuracies in events and things said. I am in here fricking with y'all really.
The only thing that matters to me is the kid who signs with Auburn. The back stories, side stories have no bearing on the final outcome. Players we wanted and went to Bama are no longer a concern for me. I guess that is why I find this whole argument going on in here odd. It honestly doesn't matter who is right and who is wrong. What difference does it make? If your version or an Aubies proves to be correct does that mean Rashaan will transfer to AU now?
I should have stayed out, but was bored. You all carry on if you wish to. Just seems to be a frivolous and silly argument you all are engaged in.

More like telling you guys to not believe everything you hear from your own people thread. Gene with another great example.
I heard my info straight from someone who works in our athletic department in recruiting. What I said is how Auburn coaches and football program felt about SDH going into his OV weekend. Him trying to keep his OV under wraps convinces me it is true
It very well could have been SDH firmly committed to Bama and taking his visit to confirm that. He at least put up the appearance that he was on the fence and when put up to an ultimatum, he did choose Bama. Whether it was that he always was going to choose Bama (very possible) or that he chose them by not willing to commit either way and effectively choosing Bama.
SDH chose Bama over Auburn. Only point I made earlier is that we at least thought he had interest (true or not deep down), when on his OV we pressed him to flip and he didn't or reaffirmed being all Bama, Auburn stopped recruiting him.
End Result- Auburn clearly lost.

I just think that it's a pretty stupid way to approach recruiting and here's why:
1. Nobody was waiting on his spot. You had extra spots at the end. Who were the other linebackers? Only one I remember being talked about was McMillan and he was the longest of long shots.
2. He's an EE. It's not like you'd be left holding an empty spot on NSD. You'd have a month to replace him. Shouldn't be hard for a title runner up to find someone in a month.
3. He's at a position of need. Let's face it. You had Holland as a starting linebacker. If that doesn't say you need more depth at LB, I don't know what does.
4. The in-state battle starts with perception. The more in-state kids you get in one class, the more you change the perception of AU being the it school. Not only that, but you also get a recruit at a huge position of need from your rival. How many ILB backup plans did Bama have? Zero.
Again it may have gone down exactly as you say, but if you look at it objectively it makes zero sense to tell a kid "now or never" a month before EE signing day when you don't have a backup. Maybe Gus has Brady Hoke-like recruiting tactics.

We were okay accepting only two LBs. We were only accepting LB recruits from elite talent (McMillan was only one we recruited other than SDH). Remember Rashaan was recruited for Star (

We already felt like jilted lovers over his initial commitment to UA. I was surprised by this but we seemed to think he was going to commit to AU initially.
More realistically, I think our coaches realized that if he wasn't committing on the OV he was sticking with Bama and we lost our shot. If he wasn't flipping on the OV I don't think he ever does

Remember we only have 2 LB spots on defense. Frost and McKinzy improved throughout the year and have 2 years left each. Swain was a nice supporting piece. We also have LBs that were injured or can contribute like Justin Garrett, K Flowers, Cam Toney and Javy Mitchell
We also added Tre Williams a 5* as well as highly recruited Deshaun Davis (likely low rated due to injury)

We were doing well with instate kids to be honest. We finished well in state. I don't think this trumps anything else but more like a secondary win but htat is just me
