My bad. I didn't realize that.

both count against next years class

I don't think it works that way. I think a guy counts in the year they get the aid (2019-2020, otherwise called back counting), or they next year (2020-2020, where most recruits count). What you're suggesting is they would count in the 2021-2022 class, and I've never read anything where that would be possible other than by grayshirting.

Anyway, I was just curious more than anything. I'm not trying to argue about it. Y'all have a great class and all the consternation and hand wringing from my fellow LSU fans about it is petty and misguided, IMO.

Grad transfers are weird... I think if they don't show up until summer they can count against the next year's class. *But* I think with Newman already on campus, he would have to count against this year? Not 100% sure on that though... (Because grad transfers generally can't be "recruited", they almost always are eligible for a blue-shirt, which is why they can count forward as an IC, though they still have to fit under the 85 in the season they play).

As far as space in this class, I've given up my official role as recruiting beancounter at this point, now that Kirby seems to figure out ways to break the number every year. I just say frick it and assume they'll either get it right or we'll get some kind of penalty after the fact...
