Ok. I'm not sure how LSU fans have already forgotten how significant it is to be "undefeated in regulation". LSU wasn't good enough to beat Bama in 60 minutes. Not good enough. Remember your two OT losses in '07? Did losing to those teams - Arky at Tiger Stadium - mean they were better than you?

quote:

Also, that vaunted senior class hasn't won a big game in 2 years ie they've never won one on their own. You can only ride Julio, Dareus, Mark, etc's coattails for so long.

Mark, Dareus, and Julio are all part of the very class you are talking about.

Without those 3 1st round players we still played your LSU tigers - the BEST LSU team in history - to a flat tie at the end of regulation. As bad as those coattail riders are, your greatest team ever couldn't beat them without 4 missed FGs & OT.

You will be the first poster I look for at 10:30 on 1/9/12.

didnt they lose 5 other games each?

finally a good point. I didn't think of it that way.

but this is the best team in Bama history too, I read threads about it on the SEC rant.

your greatest team ever lost to a bunch of sophmores at home. LOL

Yep, but they still beat your '07 BCS national championship team. Doesn't mean you aren't champs that year, and it won't mean Bama isn't this year if they are able to beat LSU on 1/9.

Far from it. Not even the best Defense in Bama history. This is one of the better teams in Bama history, but not in the top 3. Most Bama fans will readily admit that.

Jordan Jefferson is a sophomore? Claiborne is a sophomore? Shepard is a sophomore? Randle is a sophomore? How many sophomores on your o-line? The only sophs I can remember making a play in that game were Ware & Reid.

lol that you could only name on senior and your next go to old guys were true juniors. Guess we'll see next year who has what talent then as well.

I don't study your team, bruh. Trent is a true jr. Dre is a jr. Dont'a is a jr. B. Jones is a jr. AJ is a Rso. Goes both ways.

Clearly Bama has more urgency in this BCSCG as they lose 17 SR's and likely 3-5 JR's from this class. Defense loses 4-5 DBs and 3 LBs. Trent and Vlahos C on offense.

LSU's losses while significant are far more minimal. You discount SR leadership at ALA but all have won a NCG, can Tigers make that statement?

LSU will likely be preseason #1 next year. If you win it this year it will be hard to repeat. Difficult to keep kids hungry. If you lose I think you are likely champions in 2013.

the point i'm trying to make to bamasgot13

quote:

it really should be pretty minimal compared to any year let alone a team with so much talent. Off the top of my head we lose Blackwell on the line (losing T Bob is a plus), JJ (no big loss), Peterson at TE (who we never use), and 50/50 on Randle.

Mettenberger while untested is about as good as you can hope for in terms of a new QB. Had time at UGA under Richt, had a great year at JUCO and a year here to get his feet wet a little.

Clement and others will be back at TE. La'El Collins should step in at OG without much problems. Losing Randle as a tall deep threat could be about the only big loss. Jarvis Landry will be a beast opposite Beckham but he is probably only 6'0 or 6'1. 4 of 5 back on a strong line, we lose Stampley i forgot at FB but Copeland has already supplanted him and is a gd beast. All 5 RBs are sophmores or freshman.

Both kicker and punter are back. Wing is a frosh.

On defense we lose Claiborne to the draft, Taylor at SS, Baker at LB and Adams at DE. Hatcher is another addition by subtraction. The biggest questions are if redshirt sophmores like Brockers and Montgomery would test the draft. Still we return a shite ton on the D line either way. Mingo at one end, Edwards can step in no prob if Montgomery leaves. Rasco is already getting sacks in garbage time. Even if Brockers goes, Logan, Freak and Downs back at DT. Minter is emerging at a MLB, Jones at OLB. Tyrann, Simon and Reid back in the secondary. Loston slides into Taylor's spot. Just need a young buck to step up at corner when tyrann goes to nickel.

my biggest worry, really. We'll see. This team has handled distractions well this year which i think COULD be a good sign.

Your biggest question mark going in to next year, but even average QB play will be an improvement. I haven't seen 1 play this year with Mett at QB so I don't know his potential, but if he is playing behind JJ and JL he is not going to be a Heisman candidate.

I thought ya'll would miss Nevis DL, Shephard LB and PP7 on this year's defense. Those were great, dominant players who are studs in the NFL. Hell, your defense is better than last year's and I think your offense will likely be better next year. Your average, conservative offense is the only thing that kept this game close in Nov.

Let us win in Jan and ya'll can have dibbs in 2013. A'ight.

Les didn't want even more QB drama. If Drew Brees signed out of JUCO he'd be #3 right now. Its just how Les operates. He was throwing ropes in the one garbage game they let him throw. And like you said, it'll be run, run, run, run, throw deep PA pass. So its not like he had a shite ton of offense to learn to catch up to the other 2.

Does bama lead for a kicker?

This year is no different. Both LSU and bama Finish top 5 and bama has more spots helps them.

yep. got a commit from one of the best in the nation. Adam Griffith. his film is legit, but so was Cade Foster's. The difference is he gets more height on his kicks, so that's good.

Actually, Bama already has a commitment, Adam Griffith, ranked #1 by Scout; #2 by Rivals..

Why do LSU fans keep asking this same dumbass question in an attempt to flame? Just look at our commit list on any of the major recruiting service pages if you truly want to know.

Last time I checked, most of the formulas use the top twenty commits to devise your total points toward a ranking. Unless LSU plans to sign less than 20, how many Alabama signs is a moot point.
