How did we luck into what very well may be the best returning linebacker in the country? Or do you contend that he actually wasn't elite because no one besides MSU bothered to go to Rosa Fort to evaluate him, thus why he didn't have 5 stars beside his name?

Yes. A 2* worked out for him. That's what he hangs his hat on. He definitely didn't outrecruit another top program for him.

There's a big media conspiracy not to cover recruits in Mississippi.

And you can't really claim "very well may be the best returning XXXX in the country" if hardly anyone can name that person without first being told who he is.

Ah -- so how does Mullen keep consistently turning these 2* highschoolers into 5* professionals?

So he "hangs his hat" on his own evaluations rather than who recruiting sites and other SEC coaches tell him he should recruit? THAT seems to be blowing up in our faces...

Because top talent has been constantly leaving Mississippi to go to "another top program" since he arrived in Starkville.

Your narrative is tired.

By using the word "consistently", are you saying I wouldn't be able to search his signing classes for a 2-star that didn't turn into a "5* ability"? Hell....I'd be willing to bet it wouldn't take two minutes to find one....

@ your lack of basic understanding of the definition of the word "consistently" and attempted application of the definition of a word such as "unanimously".

I can show you more 2*s that Mullen turned into legit SEC players than you can show me 2*s that were busts for us. In fact, I bet that we hit on a higher percentage of 2*s since the beginning of Mullen's tenure than OM has hit on 4*s. 'Crootin champs, indeed.

Here's one ranking where he was the 9th best LB of last season. Which puts him at 8th best returning by taking out CJ Mosely who graduated. This is just SEC linebackers, btw. It doesn't include any other conference.

LINK /

Whereas, Sederius Bryant is 3rd on that list and 2nd best returning LBer. Bryant was also a 2*. BUT FREEZE CAN'T DEVELOP TALENT LIKE MOFFAT!!!11!111!

I guess that's why Mufasa is known nationwide as one of the best talent evaluater/developer in the country and why MSU is stacking up championship trophies.

Hit on 2*s in year 5 -> barely bowl eligible. Congrats on your incredibly low expectations.

Wow -- an SDS fan list. How cute.

How about this. Lifetime Ban Bet that McKinney goes earlier in the NFL draft than any linebacker on your roster Better yet -- let's limit it to current starting linebackers -- so we don't wait 5 years for your sentence to start. Step right up if you think Bryant is "superior". Otherwise, shut the frick up.

feel free to come up with any other list not created by an MSU fan.

Didn't you already have a ban bet with someone and didn't follow through with it? could have sworn you did with WIO or someone.....

I guess that means we're still better than LSU. And LSU is obviously better than MSU being they've won every year since the Clinton Admin.

But congrats on proving Merlins' statement of MSU fans being happy with 1-11 and an Egg Bowl win.

He may just think he's the better college player. No one thinks that Bryant is going to go higher than McKinney in the NFL draft. McKinney is a first rounder.

his original argument was "top-returning". I pointed out there were several better LB'ers returning just in the SEC alone.

He then "moved the goalposts".....as he puts it. Bryant had better stats than McKinney last season and he did it missing 2-3 games.

I imagine engie's fantasy fight is him leading a group of his keenest pals down an alley snapping in rhythm.

He'd have to have pals who could snap. Eliteracists don't snap.

If his only criterion is NFL draft position, then he is probably correct on top returning.
