Call me skeptical, but I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't give him more time to reconsider. He is an EE, so it's not like he would be an NSD disaster. The time we are talking about is a few weeks, and I haven't heard of your backup plan for him so it's not like another kid is waiting right now to take his place. I think it's possible that AU could put out some false information in order to protect their perception.
Y'all got a huge momentum shift when you beat us. It would be a slight shift back to us if it is admitted that we beat you for a recruit. It's much easier to say, "we moved on." then it is to say "He wanted to stay at Bama." Like Tim Watts said "Once Angelina married Brad, I was done with her."

A shift back in momentum for a kid to STAY committed to Bama? Dont really see the momentum swing there. Also, while I believe it is an extreme long shot, I think we at least made a decent impression on Kwon McMillan at he IB, and our coaches were probably getting good enough vibes to tell SDH to piss or get off the pot right now, otherwise we are focussing elsewhere.

Saying you lost a recruit on the day of one of your biggest victories in awhile to your rival is a momentum shift. It says that even when Bama loses, Bama still wins because it gets to keep a recruit wanted by both schools. Sorry, but I'm calling BS on the commit now or lose your spot. You have a shot at McMillan, of course. But so does Bama, Clemson, tOSU. You cannot be 100% sure he would commit to AU. SDH, if the story about him wavering is accurate, seemed like he would be more than a 25% shot.

Ask yourself this: do you really think your sites would say, "You know the kid that has been to AU a lot to see his friend play, who plays a position of need, and we've been hoping would flip for weeks? Turns out he really loves Bama and was never seriously interested in us." Of course not because in some way it is a blow to the program, however slight, that winning a big game on the field did nothing for a recruit you wanted. It also makes the insiders have egg on their face to go from inevitable flip to solid to Bama.
On the other hand, saying he was still unsure so we made up his mind for him sounds like the program is in control of everything.
Differences in perception. I believe Keith told what info he had, but the info given to him was purposefully not accurate.

He, in paraphrased format, told the staff he was not sure about the flip and needed more time, and Auburn kindly told him that they were done recruiting him.

JHoke's only real difference on how this played out is that he wasn't sure where he wanted to go and the coaches gave him a "You have to decide right now if you want to go to AU" kind of talk. SDH told the AU coaches he was sticking with Bama

That is pretty pro Bama since he refused AU so I got to believe that is close to truth
