For those keeping count, a graph of the responses to the OP's question: "If you were a recruit would you rather attend Texas or Texas A&M?"

but it's going to take a lot to dethrone Texas

"Dethrone" implies they were king.

Since the existence of the Big 12 conference, Texas has won the conference 3 times...3 TIMES. With all that money and all those resources, they won the conference THREE TIMES.

Not only that, but prior to the 2011 season, the only schools in the CURRENT Big 12 to win the conference were Texas (3), Oklahoma (7), and Kansas State (1). Since then, there has been a new champion each year, and not Texas or Oklahoma. When the only two national draws in your conference don't win, your conference appeal goes down.

Deep down, you, as well as everyone else, knows that Texas is and will always be "the king" of the state.

Would I rather live in Austin or College Station? This isn't even close. Longhorns.

I'd go with Texas now that they have Strong. And as the dude above mentioned - Austin is the shite.

Carepillar..

A&m AND ut BOTH top ten in endowment (similar)
A&M NOW bigger than ut
Facilities at A&M > ut (when all finished soon)
Alumni giving A&M's > ut
Alumni network A&M's MUCH tighter
>25K Women at A&M.. We have plenty
School rankings BOTH similar and very high

Who cares anymore anyway, just disputing some of your points

Great players want to play with other great ones.. A&M dominated ut in recruiting and on the field in mud 70's and 84-mid
90's and thats when we were in the same cinference.
The SEC has been a game changer and most if not all of our recruits have stated conf affiliation played a big part.
Ut will be back ( maybe with Strong) and get their share, but unless A&M's program goes to shite, i just don't see how they'll ever have an edge again.

To everyone saying Texas, do you think they have a higher rated recruit class than us on signing day next year? Please explain your answer either way.

That's entirely possible, but it's a bit ironic to me that the only good argument I've seen for Texas came from a Nebraska guy.

Mikrit..
Series record SKEWED due to 15 games in a row in BR in our worst period in history. 60-75
Although we were good in 74-75 & 67
We were 3-12 in those games i believe

Quote by Johnny Manziel.. "Bulls--- like tonight is a reason why I can't wait to leave college station...whenever it may be.

He ripped on the town because of the PD, but he still said its " a reason" I want to leave CS, inferring that there were more reasons than though. Get yo facts straight guy.
