Why does that matter? He won the Heisman, and so did Mark Ingram. All of this other talk about "what if" Mark Ingram played in the PAC and "what if" the Heisman was voted on after the season is asinine.

A lot of college stars fail in the NFL. Look at Mark Ingram's career thus far. It has been far less than stellar. Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams had ups and downs. Cam Newton has been borderline incredible. Rolando McClain has been mediocre on and off the field. Dre Kirkpatrick could not even make it on the field as a Rookie. Nick Fairley was terrible and had an injury filled Rookie season, then he came back and had a semi-strong 2nd year. Carlos Rogers has had a solid career. Jason Campbell has been mediocre outside of a couple seasons, and he was not very good even then. Kenny Irons tore his ACL during the Preseason of his Rookie year after being drafted in the 2nd round and he has not been heard of since. Junior Rosegreen is playing in the Arena League.

While I am on the subject of Mark Ingram, however, let us observe how many seasons he has rushed for over 1,000 yards since entering college up until now. Once, one time, uno. Aside from his Sophomore season at Alabama, he has rushed for 728 yards, 875 yards, 474 yards, and 602 yards. His 2009 season was outstanding, but it seemed like a flash in the barrel, and aside from it, he has simply not been very impressive.

To end this rant, I, and apparently many others, would take Eddie Lacy and Trent Richardson over Mark Ingram without the slightest of hesitation.
