Grant came from the commonwealth.

I heard he was transferring but I would have no idea why we'd be his early favorite? I don't think Grant has any connection to him.
We offered him and were one of his finalists IIRC.

Coaching at VCU doesn't mean you'll be that connected to a 5* just because he's from Virginia

Really?
I know we offered him. I'm 99% sure we made his top 4 or 5 or whatever too.

Michael Gbinije, a Class of 2011 four-star wing, has a large number of schools heavily pursuing him. Of the schools that have offered him, Villanova, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia, Syracuse, Maryland, Georgetown and Wake Forest are high on his list. He has already visited Georgetown, Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Those were a couple blurbs I could find. Those were all before UK, UNC, and Duke got interested though.

Well I would hope for our sake they are bestfriends. Having a cousin coach a prospect didn't help us, so we need something stronger then family ties.

Nothing Luke Cothron can't fix...amirite?

He hasn't committed anywhere yet. But im sure we'll be
Cool with having one true pf on the roster.

But he's super good, right. Didn't you say he'd be going to a premier basketball school? I wonder why that hasn't happened?
We're better off sticking Cooper at the 4 then having a kid more mind fricked than Tony Mitchell with a third of the talent as well.

Cothron might have turned over a new leaf, but we would be fricking retarded for bringing someone like that in right after we finally got that kind of crap out of the locker room.
If he has changed, some program will get a pretty good player. He isn't worth the risk though.

But even if we land Pollard, he's not a true PF. We'll have to play small and HOPEFULLY press and play up tempo, what I think our roster is really fit for. Getting Pollard would make up for all the other recruiting misses as well as under performing season IMO.

One injury to Jacobs and goodnight.

We will play small all season. It's clear that Grant is trying to build a roster that is geared towards running for 40 minutes. Which is why all the stall ball we played last season didn't make any sense. We finally had the depth to run and press the entire game, and we didn't.

One injury to Releford and goodnight. One injury to Levi and goodnight. We could play that game with a lot of players on our roster. We all realize we have no post depth. We've missed on all our targets sans Pollard's decision. In no way does that mean our coaches should gamble on a low character guy, especially after dealing with Mitchell and Green and even at times Releford. I agree with you that we'd be better off looking at a juco guy who had the body of Chris Hines, it doesn't look like our staff is doing that though. Maybe they feel more confident in how Carl and Moussa will be able to progress in the offseason. I really don't know.

That's why some games I think Grant coached a helluva ball game and other times, I'm infuriated with what we did and how we attacked, or lack thereof.

Pretty sure he will have to sit for a year, yeah.
One of the Duke fans on the MSB said he is going to Nova or Georgetown though.
