Not great. He's visiting Kansas State tomorrow and then will decide in a few weeks too. I think we are on the outside looking in, but something good could happen and he may pick us. The playing time is there, he really likes Brannen and Grant, and Releford being from Kansas can only help.

That's about what I figured. Any bigs that we sign in this class are basically guaranteed a lot of PT next year though. Hopefully we get a couple that are good enough to contribute as freshmen. Grant is a good recruiter though, so I'm not too concerned.

I know our staff likes Haughton, but he doesn't even have a Rivals profile so I'm not sure how good he really is. He's tall and we need that, though.

What you guys hearing on Williams?

Well since you guys just got a SF commit for the 2012 class, I think our odds have improved definitely, but I've heard nothing

Shannon Hale
Goes to my high school alma mater.
Is he a good prospect?
Christ School is turning into a powerhouse.

He's a good prospect who had a very bad summer playing wise. He's trying to grow into a power forward, but it's a slow process. The easiest way to put it is I really hope he stays committed to Alabama.

I was at a wedding with his HS coach not long ago and he diddn't mention anything other than he had a player that was going to play at Bama and that I should be really excited about him. Diddn't mention anything about flipping.
Who else is recruiting him?

No one that I know of. Unlike football, it's kinda an unwritten rule that you don't recruit committed players, but as you can see with Sina, people still do it. If Hale were still being recruited by other schools, I'd think Vandy, UT, and NC State.

Jimmie Taylor and a few other 2013 guys were at the game last night according to different sites.

Is anyone in state recruiting Justin Pride? Saw him play for Trevor Laceys team in B'ham. Damn good point guard.

I think mid majors are recruiting him. He's a bit too small for high majors I think from what little I've read on him.

Williams chose Arkansas over us. That's what happens when you slow play a kid while the other school has made him a priority. We need to pick it up on the recruiting trail definitely.

Bryant, what are you hearing on Devonta Pollard?
Posted on 10/27/11 at 2:01 pm to Al Bundy Bulldog
I've heard nothing to be honest. No Alabama site has tried talking with him and he doesn't talk to any media in general.

Are we even going to sign anyone in the 2012 class? Serious question. It is my understanding that the 2013 class in Alabama is much better, so would it be crazy for us to save the scholarships until then if we aren't able to get a couple of guys we really want in this class?

Inside sources have Pollard a State lean. He hates the media attention but still wants to take his visits

We have no choice but to sign a post player or two in this class. We don't necessarily need a wing or a guard but we have to get post depth. Then we can address the wings and posts in 2013.
