Obviously, Tennessee’s recruiting class had a major shakeup this week with 5-star Cade Mays officially decommitting. Mays reopened his recruitment following Tennessee’s loss to Georgia, but out of respect for Tennessee, he opted to not make any public announcements

- VQ war room this morning pretty much confirming what Volfan posted over a month ago

Beat reporters for Georgia also had this information and agreed to keep this silent. Not sure how much you can say it was "out of respect for Tennessee" so much as it was time for him to truly process and determine what he wanted to do. UT Butching up this firing/hiring process is not helping. Doesn't mean they can't salvage it, but they need to do so quickly.

They can't afford his buyout and paying all the new coaches.

I stand corrected. Congrats Vol fans.

Sad day for college football, but mostly a sad day for memes.

Congrats Vols.

Thought same, have heard different. More Vols fans here might know more, but I'd be optimistic about our chances.

Doesn't change what I said

I think Auburn kinda cooled y'all off on the recruiting trail, I think we are probably pitching off of how that game went

No... it just provides context behind it... None of that means that he absolutely wouldn't pick Clemson, but it's not like that CB means an awful lot.

As to the "cooling after the Auburn game" bit... that doesn't seem to be the case at all thus far. If anything, it helps sell that there is still room for anyone to come compete for playing time. OL for 18 - not set in stone, DL/LB for 18 - going to be a lot of attrition and the guys behind them aren't all locks to inherit the playing time.

I just mean the bit about y'all telling players y'all are close to a national championship.

Because we're ahead of schedule? Most people predicted 10-2 season and an SEC East championship only... surprise... we are guaranteed that at a minimum now. Anything else is more than was anticipated this year. Meanwhile, Smart is recruiting at a level that even the most homeristic of UGA fans would not have expected. Things are moving in the right direction... will be interesting to see how this year finishes up, as well as how we replace the exiting seniors (plus any draft attrition, assuming Roquan for sure, unsure on Trent or anyone else right now).

It sure doesn't but what I said gives people more info about it. It might as well be some random guess from a Idaho Vandals beat writer, You probably believed her didn't you

When our guys start flipping their CBs I'll start worrying.
