Well, two things that go against AU, Malzahn may not be there very much longer and who is the last NFL qb he's landed out of high school.

He ran a 4.97 at the combine. Black QB's can be pro-style too
Winston is the most Pro style QB I can think of.

I'm expecting it to be a surprise to everybody. You know how kids do these days. He's loving the attention right now. Whatever school he ends up with won't hurt his chances of making it to The League because he's already on the NFL watchlist for being a highly ranked recruit. The schools he's picking from have the athletes to put around him to help him ball.
Fields and his family seem to be telling each side what they want to hear. It also seems like the "insiders" are having a problem figuring out who is the step mom and the mom.

Yes, if we tank this year we def aren't getting Fields. If Stidham lives up to the hype and we have a good year Malzahn is safe for a while.

Chaney hasn't done anything relevant since these kids weren't even born yet and even then he was sucking on Tiller's tit with Brees and I know more about offense than Kirby Smart.

True, but I'm not pumping him up like he's a freaking qb guru like you are Malzahn.

Sure you do. That's why you're a keyboard coach and he's getting paid millions.

Malzahn has plenty of faults but my statement was he was the only coach of those in the running to have any experience/success with a QB like Fields, which is a true statement.

Biggest fault is the job security with Auburn. Not even hearing they are in it.

I'll never sleep on Auburn in a recruiting battle. I'll never sleep on any of his finalists in a recruiting battle- Florida, auburn, FSU, or UGA. This recruitment is wide open, but I do think that it's more of a Florida-UGA-Auburn battle with FSU in fourth.

What makes you believe FSU is in fourth? If it's the report he didn't not see eye to eye with Jimbo, that's been refuted by just about every admin on 247. I'm just curious because I think they're the favorite.

They've offered 3 quarterbacks since his campus visit
Posted on 6/24/17 at 7:54 pm to atlgator
I see your point. Who did they offer?
Side bar, I was perusing through the FSU 247 board, and I came away surprised by their hatred of UGA.

FSU's hatred goes back to the hiring of CMR. They feel strongly that he was thinking about UGA, not FSU, during their title game that year against Oklahoma (I believe), which contributed to their horrible offensive performance and loss. They also accuse him of actively recruiting kids to Georgia that year that would've gone to FSU, with D.J. Shockley as exhibit A.
Doesn't help that CMR's departure started a decline in FSU's fortune as Georgia's rose. And CMR beat them in the Sugar Bowl.
Put it all together, both real and imagined, and some FSU fans are still pis*ed.

FSU hates everybody because they know that everybody dislikes them and how slimey they've always been. Bowden years...

Can't remember names, Will Levis I think was one name, a kid that ended up committing to UNC, and I can't remember the third kid's name. They're all three star "back up plan" types though

Thanks
I think something we've been sleeping on, most of the high rated QB's are committed elsewhere. I believe only 2 of the top 20 Pro Style QB's are uncommitted (Corral and McKee), and 2 of the top DT QB's are uncommitted (Fields and Bohanan). What I'm getting at is the three teams who miss on Fields are in for a fight to get a quality arm in this class. I can't remember so many QB's being committed this early.
*Sorry for the shitty grammar, on my phone*

They actually offered one new 2018 qb at camp (Levi)
Ruder was already offered in May and the other was a 2021 qb...

Ruder was a guy that they turned up the heat on after Fields visit and he quickly committed to UNC after that.
Regardless, you don't tend to go after other quarterbacks when you think you have a good shot at the #1 guy in the country. Just my opinion

Who says that they turned up the heat on Ruder? He didn't mention it in his interviews.
Also, who knows if the Levi offer is even commitable.
