He'll commit to LSU soon. His aunt is more then comfortable with LSU which was the final hurdle in getting him. Shavar will take his visits, but from what I've heard, his decision has been made already.

Yeah he went on some spill about how he went to the university and that isn't true...then I responded with it sounds like you didn't get laid at one of the easiest colleges in the world to get laid

Are you sure he wasn't just trying to defend the schedule

Yeah, I saw that you said "might." There's still no "might" about them getting close to this class:

They only signed 19 and eight of them were five-stars. I'm not demeaning LSU's class because it is shaping up to be really good, but it won't be the best of all-time unless they can pull Little out of their arse and haul in every coin flip left on their board including RG and Manuel.

we have a real shot to land 6 or 7 5-stars this recruiting cycle.

Using 247 composite rankings, ya'll have a somewhat realistic shot at landing six 5*s not seven

I think he might be figuring in someone getting bumped to 5 star. Ed Alexander is right on the cusp, and Fulton is talented enough to move up with a great season.

A few might get bumped down too though.

LSU just to get six 5* would need a closing of all closings. I think you have four 5* pretty comfortably but there is a ton of ground to make up unless someone gets bumped up (without others going down)

Rivals missed bad with that USC class. It is practically a cautionary tale.

Byers: undrafted free agent (decent career)

Davis: 2nd Rd (meh career)

Herring: "The top offensive line prospect in 2004 was a complete bust at USC. He rarely saw the field and was barely even on the two-deep roster. He never lived up to the hype." LINK

Lotui: 2nd Rd (decent NFL career)

Powdrell: undrafted free agent (switched to FB from LB)

Rivers: 9th overall pick, solid NFL career

Schweiger Jr: "Schweiger was seen as the perfect defensive end coming out of San Jose, big and strong enough to defend the run but also fast enough to be a terror to Pac-10 quarterbacks as he racked up 18 sacks his senior season. Schweiger looked like he was going to live up to expectations early in his career, flashing potential in spot time but surprisingly didn't progress into a starter and finished his career at San Jose State." LINK

Scott Ware: undrafted free agent (made a practice squad once)

So one quality starter, a couple of journeymen, and a few monumental busts.

Have you seen AUburn recruiting class rankings? They are a cautionary tale.

We are the land of 5* busts

I have.

Everyone has them, but that USC class is the GOAT.

Gary
Little
Manuel
Wilson
Smith (Committed)
Lawrence
Monroe (Committed)
Alexander (Committed) - first 4-star, in line for 5th star based on ranking
Mullen - in line for 5 star based on ranking

That's nine guys we have at least a shot with, have 3 committed, would be considered the leader for 2 or 3 more (Manuel, Lawrence, Mullen) and absolutely in it for Gary and Little. Wilson is the only longshot of that group.

So we already know that the five stars in this class will be sure things? Got it.
