If he committed to you as a receiver....you would say he was a great receiver. Don't try to change the narrative to fit what you are really saying. I know fans like you...we have them...every school has them...and you are one of them. If the kids commit to another school then it's the same ole.."he wasn't any good anyway"...nice try though....well...not really ! These kids are as good as they were when they turned you down....lol....

HUUUUUGE GET! Saw him workout this past year and dayum y’all are getting a great one! Memphis is loaded with talent and most are all very close friends. If I were boom I’d work the hell out of Memphis this year and next

Yep, Memphis has always been a hotbed. I can think back to even the '60s when Treadwell and Christian Brothers, Melrose, etc, were producing ... but even then they were sending kids to Ole Miss, Bama, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc. Even Georgia has pulled some good players outta there.

Never have understood why UT has never really done well in Memphis of the Midsouth, the hub of the South to some degree.

Memphis State .... errrr, Memphis, is starting to keep more of them home as well these days.

SC isn't messing around, it's impressive. UGA needs someone to step up in the East to make it interesting

The East will probably never again be what The West is in football (although there was a time) because The East has three (technically) basketball schools in the division in Kentucky, Mizzou and Vandy.

For the East to compete with the West in Atlanta however, you're right ... SC, UF and UT all three need to compete against UGA in a big way.

I think SC and UF will pretty soon, UT may be a little-ways-out yet.

Recruiting recruiting recruiting no doubt. And here's the thing. There is a ton of talent in the East ... in the states of Florida, Georgia and even South Carolina and North Carolina and, this year in particular, in Tennessee. But typically Nashville has been split between the East and West, and Memphis has been all West.

SC definitely needs to find a way to keep reaching out west ... including California this year. We've got to expand our recruiting footprint to be successful, and it appears mUSChamp is doing that. We need to get into Texas somehow and we had hoped mUSChamp's contacts there would help in that regard.

Back when UT was really doing well (talking about Tennessee) they would go into Texas and California all the time.

Most of the talented guys in Tennessee are flying under the radar right now, and a lot of the highly rated guys are overrated.

Melvin McBride and Elijah Simmons should be top 5 in state. Adonis Otey and Lance Wilhoit are unbelievably overrated.

We had a California pipeline back then, Kevin Simon is working on reopening it. We did okay in Texas, nothing spectacular, but definitely better than we have lately.

There’s just no real emphasis on going to UT if you’re from Memphis. You have so many different fan bases littering the area these kids never have the solid push like other places in the state or in other states with dif schools. It sorta reminds me of Monroe with LSU, sorta in the corner and it’s population has a few fan bases living there so they’re not being fed the pudding constantly. If I were Pruitt my main focus point would be Memphis! Most of the 19 and 20 guys I’ve spoken to are leaning towards out of state schools and there are some very good ones coming out!! And what you said about UM is very true and I’m loving it!! They are getting very good at picking some diamonds out of the rough and I love how they’re using the juco system. Growing up practically in Memphis it’s nice to see them succeed like they have recently

Memphis recruiting isn’t as simple as location. There are a lot of hands trying to get into the pot here.

I’m an Ole Miss fan FWIW. We were the first visit he scheduled when he decommitted but weren’t in his final 4 because we told him defense. Interesting to hear about his time at the Rivals 5* challenge.

Memphis is a weird outlier because it's a stone's throw away from Oxford, a couple hrs from Fayetteville, and i rarely see UT fans in Memphis when i visit. Shoot we recruit Memphis since our OC coached there

I feel A&M could have a lot of success there in the future but LSU has always had a strong consensus of fans in Memphis so the kids are at least familiar with us growing up so that helps! I could really see SC making a run with some guys like I said a lot of the 19 and 20 guys are very close. But shaft why is there no interest for this class? Granted Memphis has more talent next year but shite if I were Pruitt I’d be trying to build a relationship with every recruit that’s worth looking at and coach in the area!

Memphis football recruiting is a bit like Memphis basketball recruiting if that tells you anything

I meant to say interested. The guy who ran it will be on Russell Johnson's (RebelGrove recruiting guy, but from Ohio so impartial) recruiting podcast tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up.

Would you have a link by chance? I'd like to listen.

FWIW our SC insiders who are attending camps are saying he could end up at either position and are also throwing RB out there for good measure.

The one thing everyone seems to agree-on so far is that, regardless of where he lands and at what position, he's a helluvan athlete and his stock is climbing in the camps with additional big time offers.

It's exactly how it works, we aren't targeting a bunch of 2019 Tennessee prospects, but we are targeting a shitload in 2020.

Makes sense. It gives you guys time to build relationships and if you have a bad year you can sell them on building up the program and if you have a good year you can show them progress.

Doesn't it work better if a staff gets in an area early, way ahead of time, and builds relationships?

Don't you want to be in Memphis already this yeae, even last year, if you want to have success in Memphis in 2020?
