I was just making the point that we like to throw it to a lot of guys, I think Mullen's goal when he got here was 8+ TD targets?
your point was that you spread it around more than us. You don't. We hold a slight, admittedly not enough to be brag-worthy, advantage on that stat.

Not by your data, and only by mine in 2013, when we were reloading at WR. Whatever, not enough to matter either way.

False. Our top 4 accumulate for 61% of the catches vs 64% for OM. In a year that we were very shallow on receiver depth due to graduating 3 starting seniors.
also....you're lumping in the top 4 guys all as one stat. You can't do that.
Out of your top 4, Lewis caught 42% of those 4.
Out of our Top 4, Treadwell caught 35% of those 4.
This also leans towards us distributing the ball better.....

Jesus dude, if you don't want to consider all 4 then only post the top one for each team.

I posted individually the top 4 guys. I didn't lump them together. When talking about distributing, it's incredibly misleading to post a stat of multiple players grouped together. It gives you absolutely no idea how those players are actually distributed.
I'll gladly post the rest though...
MSU's next 3
19%
19%
17%
OM's next 3
29%
22%
14%
Mind you these percentages are only in comparison to the combined stats of the top 4. While there is only a 3% different in both squads #4 WR, there is a 7% difference in catches between both squads #1.

Because the argument has evolved to the point that the data is no longer relative. Bumphis wasn't on the team in the single year you are referencing. I said we tend to spread it more, meaning over the past 5 years, you are looking specifically at 2013. The only think it proves is that Lewis accounted for a higher percentage of our total yardage than Moncrief did for yours. I am trying to drop the discussion because it doesn't matter and neither of us is going to prove anything one way or the other.

I think where this actually stemmed from was when we were talking about Sanders competing for the WR1 spot for MSU this season.
I actually included stats from when Bumphis was at MSU in that debate....as well as the one where we're talking about which team distributes the ball better.
We were pretty even in distribution in 2012 when you had Bumphis and we didn't have treadwell or Engram.
And you can't compare teams in years when one team didn't have their current coach. In 2012, we were pretty even in this aspect then. And you admit, rightfully so, that you had deeper WRs in 2012 than 13... In 2013, OM was slightly better.

Since that is your argument. Please, please, show may any statistic that would back your theory that Sanders would compete for WR1 at MSU.
You can't compare apples to oranges, which was my initial point. But I can sure as hell tell you that Sanders wouldn't be WR1 at State any time in the past 5 years.

From one of my posts earlier today.....
The point against Sanders was he only had 350-ish yards this past year and it was laughed at....with the point that Lewis had over 900 yards this season.
If you go back to 2012, MSU had Bumphis with 930-ish yards and we had Donte with around 960.....fairly similar WR1s for both teams as far as production.
Sanders had over 500 yards to Lewis having just over 100. And IIRC, both were 3rd in yardage for their teams.

Lewis was a freshman and he and Bumphis played the same slot. Lewis wasn't a starter until this year and he was directly behind Bump in his position. He was tied for 7th, not 3rd.

And to further the point, we had 4 receivers go for over 350 yards this year, which is more than Sanders if your stats are correct. So if you want to make the argument that Sanders would be the #5 receiver for our team you can back that claim.
And as far as spreading the touches:
Moncrief and Treadwell accounted for 131 of your 310 completions, 42%.
Lewis and Johnson accounted for 94 of our 253 completions, 37%.

Didn't even read this thread....and I am sure no fans of any non-Mississippi team posted in it.
They are all too busy laughing their heads off at yet another gargantuan Hatfields-and-McCoys thread (this one up to almost 300 posts already)over a 3-star receiver
So pathetic.
