What difference should it make to you if somebody from a different fan base says something like that? Just shrug it off and let it go. That was a week ago, and you are still upset about it?

Daniel was a definite take. We all thought he was coming to Georgia and was surprised when he did not.
I follow recruiting pretty close, and heard a decent amount about Smith for awhile, but nothing for a month or so. Doesn't mean we did not want him. Just means I have not heard hm mention.


You guys got two excellent CB's. Celebrate it, and don't let anybody else spoil it for you.

Good grab on Daniel, will be interested to see how our coaches respond to it... whether it's going harder for him or a replacement. Cam Smith on the other hand wasn't a head to head "win", as he wasn't that high on our boards. Not a knock on the kid, and possibly a misstep by our staff, as I like his footage (hits like 3 trucks in run support). He's a talented kid, but I don't see lockdown coverage skills for him... if anything I see a guy who maybe transitions to safety. Happy to be wrong for him though.

BTW, he's a corner. He's got great footwork, hips and a head on a swivel plus the kid is acrobatic when he goes airborne and his vertical is off the charts.

You're right though, he's a big hitter. He just needs to add twenty pounds of muscle and he'll be devastating.

Cam makes five CBs we'll soon have on the roster 6'2" or better that can run, cover and hit.

No one has ever doubted Boom's and T-Rob's abilities to recruit great secondaries.

Georgia fans and clempson fans one in the same it appears. Lose out on a kid and automatically he was " low on your board" soon you will start using the clempson slogan of " we stopped recruiting him because he doesn't fit as a tiger".

First... did you seriously just link me to a bot reading the news... Is this what passes for quality info in Columbia these days?

Second... None of that changes what I said. He was not one of the top 4 or even 5 DBs on our board. If by the end of this recruiting class you see us offer a 400-500 ranked DB nationally, you may have a point (and even then possibly not, as the staff may just like them better), but at this particular juncture, he is not and was not a priority for our staff. As I said before, that *may* be a misstep, but I suppose my judgement on a recruit is probably not as highly sought after as Kirby or our staff's, so I'll defer to people who make a living coaching the game and bringing in talented players. I think he's a hell of a ball player and a good get... just the narrative pushed at the beginning of this threat that it was some head to head battle is idiotic. Claim the win for Daniel, absolutely, just don't be an idiot and think that because a team is in the top 3-5 that they were really in the running. How many times have we seen a kid claim Alabama was in their top 3-5 when UA fans and insiders know that the player in no way fits into their final class as anything other than a plan B.

Did I say he's not a corner? No. I said he's not "lockdown" IMO. I think with more size he projects as a better safety... Doesn't mean he can't play corner at Carolina.

I know you're an old fart and like to get incensed where possible... just make sure you read and understand the actual content before making an assessment. Never thought I'd have to make that caveat for an elder statesman like yourself... I expect that bullshite from millennials.
