The Perry take was always curious, IMO. He wasn't playing safety his Jr year, he was playing corner, but had a really poor year, after a standout soph year at safety (and LB I believe). I know it's not the same position, but you would expect a college safety prospect to still be above average as a corner on the high school level. Especially in the area of the state he's in where the teams aren't loaded with guys, just one or two typcially every year that can play in college.
He might still have all the physical tools though, who knows. I know coaching on the high school level in Louisiana generally leads to a lot of raw prospects on the college level.

I could see Perry working out like Montrell Custis from last year. He'll probably stay in this class until Dec/Jan before moving on.
ETA: Besides, we need talent at safety moreso than corner. We can't afford to take two projects at S (Shawn Jennings and Perry).

Lately Ole Miss has the tendency to take crystal ball projections to other teams and wipe their arse with it, tho.

TBH, I don't see a downside for Bama doing that as a show of good will to him and to keep Davonta Smith with a good attitude towards Bama. I mean, you keep Perry around, increasing his demand as people see him as a high value guy, and let him make his choise on when and where to go later in the process.

Look at ol Georgia continuing to come after Louisiana kids. Hope he ends up a Dawg

Must have but I honestly didn't see this coming from this guy. I thought he was 100% solid
He has never been solid. He was still giving a lot of consideration to flipping to LSU earlier this year, but this slowed down in the Spring. I don't know whether he lost interest once LSU started getting all of the major DB commitments or whether he started to see that he might get earlier playing time at another program, such as OM or UGA. I would guess that it was some of both.

Why would you hope that another SEC foe gains a foothold in Louisiana? Isn't it hard enough to just fight off Alabama/TAMU for Louisiana recruits, much less having UGA with Pruitt in Louisiana? They are also pursuing Willie Allen, which may begin a pro-UGA pipeline within the state.

I'd love to have kept him but I can't blame him. We got what? 3 5* corners the last two cycles? I think we'll be ok.

Last year was the first year that I can remember UGA really going after LA guys. One was Jackson, who signed with LSU, but really what UGA was selling. And the other was Chigbu, a WR we didn't really pursue, but looks like a good one.
I think distance will prevent them from ever really establishing a pipeline though. And the lack of need to go out of Georgia for guys will prevent them from looking at more than a couple guys a year.
But yeah, I'd rather kids go to Tenn, UGA, Mizzou, or Kentucky, than Bama, Auburn, or Florida.

LSU has to fight off schools from every conference in the country, what's one more school? A UGA pipeline is fine with me. Like Project said, I would rather see the kids who want out of state go to the East instead of the West.

If I were an LSU fan, I'd be hoping that Carter ends up OOC at some place like Michigan where it would be almost impossible to establish a consistent pipeline.
Pruitt almost had Bobby Humphrey's son to abandon his legacy. This is not the type of recruiter that you want anywhere near your backyard.

At the risk of making this thread jump the shark, this has to be some kind of record for civil discourse in a thread about a Louisiana kid decommitting from Bama that's considering Ole Miss.

I mean, we can take this thread places if you want. Ya feel me?

I know Pruitt would be involved, but Sale would be doing the heavy lifting on Allen, who would be more likely to kick off a pipeline, as NOLA just has more players than rural Tangipahoa parish.
