Oh so now South Carolina dropped him due to grades.
Can you guys get your story straight on why Boom missed on him TIA
Not sure what story you've latched onto, but this was our only story:
Mar. 29, 2018:
quote:
Thompson, who committed in December, was not expected to sign with the Gamecocks this year. But there’s no change to his status. He’s still committed to South Carolina.
The junior college route could be next, after he graduates from Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, S.C.
Thompson took an official visit to Marshall in the fall. Louisville and Tennessee have been rumored as options, too. However, academics could prevent him from playing at the Power 5 level this season.
Mar. 30, 2018:
quote:
Thompson held off on signing with anyone thru the two signing periods because he still had some academic work to accomplish.
As things have turned out, it does not appear at this time Thompson will be signed by USC for the 2018 class. He said Friday afternoon he planned to enroll at a local Columbia school and go from there.
“I plan on going to Benedict for a year or two then trying to find a good D2 college for me,” Thompson said.
“He had some academic work to catch up on,” said Dutch Fork coach Tom Knotts. “He was set up at Dutch Fork. I mean, he’s got the classes that he can certainly do if he’ll do it, then he had to take two virtuals. It’s on him.”
May 30, 2018:
quote:
The four-star athlete from Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, S.C., confirmed to GoVols247 on Wednesday that he was on his way to Tennessee to join the Vols as a late addition to their 2018 recruiting class after visiting them twice over the past few months.
I thought everyone understood this. We held open our last scholarship spot for Thompson in the hopes he would get his academic work in order to make it in. It didn't look like that was happening, and the initial thought process was that he'd go to a JUCO. Then UTjr. came in late and somehow found a way to get him admitted into their university. We ended up giving Thompson's scholarship to Texas A&M transfer DB Nick Harvey.
It's also common knowledge that Thompson de-committed from VT - the school he was initially committed to - because his academics didn't look good enough.....

So, what was your story on this??

You're talking to a tree stump when it comes to Vol fans about Thompson Conway.
He was a greatn get for them but he couldn't cut the mustard academically at the UofSC that's just the facts.
UTk is academically inferior. They play games academically just like UNC.

Heath is crazy athletic but he’s so immature. Is he on pace to qualify?
All of our people say he's MSU bound, I'll believe it when he recommits.

He's not going to qualify. He is also a terrible person that will never pan out. The only reason he's going to state is because of the bag man at Co-Lin. Starkville sucks and no one would ever choose to go there over Oxford if they had the choice.
Did I cover everything, not a fan Neal?

It’s common knowledge that UT is superior to USCjr academically. It’s also common knowledge that it has been harder to get in athletes to UT than just about any other SEC school since the mid to late 2000s. That’s why Fulmer was brought in.

Committed to Bama, de committed, re committed, de committed again, committed to the Vols, flipped to State.
Do not want.
Do not want.

Yeah, because Tennessee is in a position to be turning down Elite d-line talent lol

Pruitt is smarter than fat arse Joe Moorhead so again do not want. Enjoy him though

Yeaaaah smart enough to realize he wanted this kid and take his commitment not once but twice. Kid spent most of his time at our elite camp teaching high school kids techniques and helping them with drills. Sounds like a leader to me.

I can’t remember if Pruitt was MSU second or third choice after Moorhead. He didn’t interview well..
Morris at Arkansas was the other coach behind Moorhead.

Well sort of. He committed to Bama, but was a very high risk of not qualifying. So Bama didn't give him an NLI to sign, but saved a spot for him in case he qualified. He didn't. Since he was just beginning his two years of juco, Bama hadn't extended him a committable post-juco offer. He just took it upon himself to announce that he "recommitted" to Bama. So, he then announced his decommitment and committed to Tennessee.

It got harder because Fulmer could get anyone in and then the academic scandal of changing grades and what not forced the administration to oversee what Fulmer was doing. Once he no longer had free rein the program went down hill fast. So thanks to Fulmer it got harder so not sure what you mean it is why they brought Fulmer back unless they are going to allow him to bend the rules again to get anyone in.

Not sure what you're referring to, as I can only post links to legitimate news sources. But academics IS in fact an off the field issue....

UTjr's reputation as a cheating program proceeds itself.

Not sure what the deal was but it seemed to be a mutual parting from both sides
That’s Tenner’s story and they’re sticking to it.
