You can diminish the obvious turnaround there by saying it was a schedule difference, that we got some lucky breaks in close games, or that we only beat the teams we were supposed to beat.

I didnt say a thing about luck, but it was a glaring schedule difference and it was a glaring roster difference. It appears you concede those points as you didnt provide any argument against them.

As for the 2018 offense, the turnaround was mainly based upon your OOC games. Once again, not as impressive once you dig into the details.

Glaring roster difference will always be there with UF and UGA

Kirby is as good as they come recruiting

But Mullen is making the D so much better everybody signed now has a decent to very good offer list

Just need the right QB

Alex Smith
Dak
Tebow
Hell even Brian Johnson who beat the shite out
Leak
Fitzgerald

4 guys with 100+ TDs scored in sec and he coached half of em

Mac signed 5 every that never shoulda been gators

Also couldn't get an offense going or land a LB or DL worth mentioning

Clayton he was a bust Robinson the WR heart problem

Plus the man was horrible at roster management couldn't land stud DL or LB to save his life

Mullen has done that quite a few times at least compared to what he inherited

Mac literally thought letting Grier go wouldnt hurt a thing. We coulda easily backed him and he woulda back ready to go for them SEC title games

With what he did to start who knows maybe he wins one.

Callaway Swain Cleveland etc still tho never could run the ball for shite under Mac

3rd and 2 and 3rd and 1 failed so many times lol its sad

I've already posted about the roster situation -- see the post regarding what happened to the players implicated in the fraud scandal. In summary, we didn't get most of those players back (and really only Scarlett, Miller, and to a lesser extent Houston were at all difference makers going forward anyway), so the idea that our roster rebounded in a big way in 2018 due to getting suspended players back is complete myth.

Suspensions were only part of the roster problem in 2017. That problem was compounded by injuries, which you havent acknowledged.

Combine the two, and yall had 18 guys out for the season by November, plus others out for SC. That is NOT a myth. That is insane attrition for a season, which yall did NOT suffer from in 2018.

As for not getting Antonio back, yall got Van Jefferson as a transfer, which is a wash, and also added Grimes. Major upgrade at WR.

Nobody expected Mullen to win 10 tho esp after kentucky loss

Mizzou also

19 he only lost to the champs by 14 and the dogs who where like 6th by 7

To say anybody knows his ceiling at UF after those 2 yrs where he worked that with Macs guys

Just shows lower ranked talent in fla is better then most the best in Miss

The man is great at finding underrated talent

I just cant wait for this season and 21

Not sure why you would penalize Mullen for going out and getting Jefferson and Grimes in the portal

Again, I'm not arguing our roster was complete shite -- it wasn't -- but it was mediocre by UF standards, and there was a culture problem, as evidenced by a supposed leader upperclassmen WR being instrumental in a fraud scheme.

Mullen righting the program was, wait for it, impressive. You can diminish it through whatever logic you want but our program was very susceptible to falling into a Tennessee-esque decline and Mullen seems to have prevented that

That point isnt to penalize Mullen, but to compare roster situations. 2018 had a much better one than 2017. Its not even close.

Had a million times better coaching too and they did a hell of job in the offseason getting that OL that couldn't run block for hell and turned em into maulers

Chauncey was getting run over weekly by every RB in the conference. Vosean regressed a ton and Polite was a non factor in one yr Grantham turn their whole game around

Randy Shannon sunk the D to garbage after Collins

Mullen took over a shite offense and defense in reality

And the front 7 was comprised of mostly 3* in the SEC yet he went 21-5 his first 2 years

Mac was just shite recruiting the front 7 the most important area of a SEC D

U look at this Mac class 7 transfers and James Robinson had a heart defect

LINK /

He made Cece so fat he was nowhere near the sack machine he came in as

Ivey and Clayton. Clayton transferred while Ivey was average at best till Hevesy and Savage showed up

Jawaan Taylor consistently outshined him

Hell every class had 4 or 5 transfers at least I think lol not only took over a bad but pretty depleted team
