3 star PJ Woodland commits to LSU

All I knew of him was he was at the Auburn game and he had decomitted from Miss St. there was rumors of him trending to Ole Miss but with Evans flipping to Georgia and Bates maybe flipping to Tennessee, they pressed for him. His play wise, I don’t know anything about him.

I was watching his senior HUDL and he seems to have really good speed, acceleration, and the hip turn flexibility you want from a corner. His speed stands out and he’s always the fastest man on the field, FWIW.

He can tackle pretty well in space. I can’t really say much about his overall coverage skills, but he has all the tools.

The biggest concern I have is his size. He’s listed as 155 and 165 depending on the site. I think he should be 15-20 lbs heavier at this point.

PJ Woodland. Smallish frame but instinctive and fast. Plays CB and WR in HS.

Former 4 star CB who committed to State, then dropped to a 3 star shortly after scoring 2 pick sixes early in his season. Now flipped to LSU and looking to receive his 4th star status back.

There's a deliberate recruit rating protocol for MSU pledges. Four 4 star commits became 3 star rated commits after picking State, and that's only so far. We only have 15 guys on our list. It's like a comedy skit.

Woodland is the top HS corner in the state and would be a 95 rated commit right now if on the Ole Miss list. Congrats

We may have turned up the heat after the recent decommit, possibly another on the way. We’ve been on him for awhile though.

He has good length. I think Causey is the better of the two flips though. Don't think either are day 1 guys.
