Why not just use the rankings from 247, ESPN, Scout, and Rivals and divide them by 4?

No accounting for lbs per square inch divided by the speed of light -- (lbf/in2)/c -- not a legit formula.

They would be admitting that ESPN or Scout's rankings have equal value as their own if they did that.
There is a formula, it uses where they are ranked overall and by position in other sites and then they are weighted.

And rightly so. ESPN and Scout are horrible at football rankings. Scout's pretty decent for basketball, but neither of them come close to Rivals or 247 as far as the gridiron is concerned.
