I bet he plays star. Assuming he grows a little bit, he's perfect for it

He's already 6'4 215. Don't think he really needs to grow much, just naturally put on a little more muscle in a DI strength program

He's probably closer to 6'2 or 6'3. But yeah, he doesn't have to grow much more, just add weight

We knew he was going to Auburn, especially after his Dad put the heavy sales pitch on Lattimore to go to Auburn.

Interesting, AU fans tell a much different story.

Interesting ... what story would that be?

Stephen Davis, Jr., was a lock for Auburn. He made an unofficial to SCAR and everyone said after the visit he was going to Auburn. Whammy even asked him during the visit, where are you leaning? And Junior told him, I'm probably going to Auburn.

Every prediction everywhere had him going to Auburn.

Everyone around his high school said he was going to Auburn.

There were pictures all over Instagram of him wearing Auburn hats and t-shirts all the time. I remember one from one of his fellow students, no doubt a Gamecock fan, who said, "Here's a picture of Stephen Davis, Jr., just in case you wonder where he is going," and it was a picture of him in all Auburn attire.

So I'd love to hear the other story.

Hell, everyone around here is happy for him. He's a legacy player for Auburn, much like Marshall and Victor Riley were out of Swansea. His Dad liked to hang around practice here a little bit last year and during the Spring and it was allowed ... but that's been cut-off and rightfully so. There's no hurt feelings or anything. It was fully expected. We're just glad he's healthy and headed to a quality program. He's a good kid.

You think so?

i know Johnson really likes him at safety.

If he's a safety at Auburn I'll be shocked. He's a natural born linebacker if ever I've seen one. He's not a highlight reel nor does he have burner speed but he has a good nose for the ball, natural instincts, and he knows the game.

I saw him play a lot the last two years and I'm not sure he has the hips to be a safety on the D1 level. But he does have a the size, if he adds about twenty pounds, and the aggressiveness, to be a helluva linebacker one day IMHO.

He's a good student and not a trouble-maker.

The "different story" part was Senior pushing Lattimore hard for Auburn. We heard very differently.

Most AU gossip said Davis Sr. was telling Lat not to go to Auburn. It was just gossip and there was no real proof. In the end CJL just misplayed Lat's mom and Lat made his choice. Auburn fans needed an explanation.

It was really Davis telling Lattimore to do what he wanted to do and he'd support him either way. He was sort of a mentor for him and he chose S Car and Davis was there to support him. And of course some idiot AU fans on the internet made a big deal out of it saying he pushed him away from Auburn and to S Car, etc.
