doesn't it look like he would be beast mode at S, has that mentality of the ball being his in the air, extremely physical in man and above average zone read skill

Nice analysis, but how could you list Jason Smith and totally forget Maurice Smith?

Definitely. He looked really good at breaking on the ball in coverage once it's in the air. Good ball skills too

Your right but Maurice Smith plans to wait it out and when I see Jason Smith film man im blown away when he brings the ball down and runs. Just wish he would forget about playing QB.

He's good IMO QB from Prattville forgot his name was better from last year, not sure on hips though and physicality if he were to play CB

He's definitely got game-breaking SEC speed. As much as he says he wants to play QB, he knows he won't stay. He's even said in interviews that he's open to moving to WR or CB, but he just wants a chance to start out at QB.

In the end, he'll sign with Auburn or Bama and play WR/CB

Charles Power on Langley

We've been saying UA is in better position than he might indicate publicly for the last few weeks, but that still doesn't explain him dropping Georgia out of his top three...a bit of a head scratcher.

Smith and Langley are ranked above Cook and Smith, by all services mind you, for a reason. I would be completely content with a CB class of Smith, Langley, Averitt, and either Johnson/Stewart. We've got 3 out of those 5 already committed.

I doubt it would matter. Being a year older and having friends that play with him, I've heard he's not stubborn about playing QB. He likes the in-state schools more than anyone and will end up at one of them, even though he knows he probably won't stay at QB

Agreed either someone from UGA's staff pissed him off or stopped calling, or he's trolling

Also FWIW could've surged ahead because of relentlessness because at this time in the year Bama and a few other staffs really hound kids hence all the commitments (and 2 more coming soon) and burn night oil on the trail, UGA's staff only does it the month leading up to NSD

From UGA 247

quote:

As another sign that recruiting can turn in the drop of a hat, cornerback Brendan Langley now has a new top three and a new leader after having Georgia out front for a few months,

"Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina are my new top three,” said Langley.

Langley said there are several reasons for each school to be in that position right now.

“I can’t really say why Georgia has moved down, but I know why the others have moved up,” he said. “Most people know I have ties up there (at Tennessee) with Brian Randolph. That is one of my best friends, and that is a big plus. Between Coach (Kirby) Smart and Coach (Derrick) Ansley, those are my favorite recruiters. More than likely, I will be a mid-year graduate. Coach Ansely explained to me that if I were to come to Tennessee that when I come in January that there will only be three cornerbacks on scholarship. So I would come in automatically in their two-deep at Tennessee.”

South Carolina is a new name involved with Langley, and they are in the mix heading into summer.

“This is probably the school that surprises people the most," Langley said. "South Carolina, really Coach (Grady) Brown, I like him a lot. But I think the main reason with them coming up is Coach (Lorenzo) Ward, who is their defensive coordinator and was also up at Virginia Tech with Macho Harris and all those corners that had come out of Virginia Tech. Obviously, he knows what he is doing dealing with defensive backs.”

Georgia has been the team in the lead up until now, and Langley says they are still in the race for him.

“Georgia is not out at all," Langley said. "They are still in my top five with those three and Florida. Georgia just moved down, but they are not out of it at all. I don’t think I would count anybody out at all at this point.”

Langley says he is still planning to announce his final decision on Saturday, Aug. 25, the day his Kell (Ga.) High School team opens the season in the Georgia Dome.

Meh. We've been in Langley's top 2 all along and haven't fallen out of those two spots. I like our chances.
