Highlight #1

Highlight #2

OK, here we go:
-Tall and skinny. Legs are really thin, but overall a nice build.
-Finally, a QB that takes snaps from under Center
-He has a very nice throwing motion. Good mechanics.
-His arm is decent. I would say about average. Definitely not elite.
-He throws a very pretty ball, but for the most part they are all lobs. Hardly any throws on a rope.
-He does throw a nice deep ball though, however, like I said it's more of a moon shot than anything. He just put so much air under the ball.
-His footwork needs major improvement. It doesn't affect him now, but it will in college. He "bounces" around the pocket and never really sets his feet.
-His highlight reels give his stats for each game and I noticed that he never threw the ball more than 20 times in a game. (I'll reveal why in a moment)
-He does show very nice play action ability.
-He's an above average athlete who throws well on the run.

Now for the revelation:

-His school name and uniforms looked very familiar and I couldn't figure out why. Then it hit me. He's the QB of Tyren Jones' team. No wonder he doesn't throw much. My team wouldn't either if I had Jones at RB. I have a feeling that this why his play action skills are so good. Most teams were loading up to stop the run and weren't bringing any type of pressure. It's not his fault but he definitely benefits from having Jones in his backfield.

Overall, he would be a perfect candidate if we were to take 2 QBs in this class. He would certainly be behind Bateman so he would have time to be coached up without necessarily needing to be thrown into the fire. If we were to get him I could see him starting his Senior year while we waited for higher ranked underclassmen to mature. He has experience playing in a run first offense that utilizes play action. Having said that, I would rather us not use a scholarship on him and miss out on a truly elite player. So I guess you could say I'm on the fence with him. If we miss out on some guys and feel taking a second guy is the best option then I'm cool with us taking him. Think of him as a taller version of Philip Ely. Not a big time prospect, but could be serviceable given time.

Awesome. Thanks.

ETA: I imagine he would commit if given a commitable offer.

My pleasure.

In my opinion, he wouldn't get a commitable offer until very late in the recruiting process. He may be off the board by then if Oklahoma State is truly after him.

Like most highlight reels, his film had the usual mix of AC/DC and Metallica music. If nothing else it's worth a watch just to listen to that.

Never been much of a fly fisherman but the place I like most for hiking and camping is Graveyard Fields. If you are in the Asheville area I imagine you are familiar with the place. Absolutely beautiful!

Nice job on McLeod.

I agree with everything you said except for the footwork part. His drops are short and choppy and he "bounces" way to much in the pocket. Like I said in my analysis, it doesn't hurt him now but it will in college. He does have good pocket presence, but he appears to be very nervous in it, hence the bouncing. It's definitely correctable with coaching though.

Again, nice job.

It will be if you don't get banned and update the thread title for each recruiting class and update the OP. I want to see this thing overtake ATPB.

I'll do some updating when I get home then. And update for the 2014 class when time comes.

Never saw it myself, but i've heard about it.

This WILL be the longest thread in TD history as long as the admins allow it to happen.

I started a thread on the Help Board asking what the longest thread ever was and Rummy responded with ATPB with over 1900 pages.

Just explain to the admins that this is a historical documentation effort. We are attempting to document the final 5 to 10 years on CNS's monumental career.
