RT @AUGoldMine: Quarterback Zeke Pike leaves Auburn for rest of summer following arrest for public intoxication

Interesting. I would bet he was on a short leash after being suspended for his playoff game in HS.

Justin Hokanson says Chizik sent him home, it wasn't his parents decision

Chizik would be a moron for sending a kid home for one public intoxication arrest. There must be other things this kid has done while at Auburn that never made the news.

Probably..I've heard he's always at the bars acting like a fool...kid has always had attitude problems from what I've heard...not crying if he doesn't return

That's what that Jerry Hinnen bro quoted at the bottom of last page is speculating as well. Plus, you gotta figure he would be on a short leash anyway given all of the red flags that were flying while he was still in high school.

And why would that be? We don't NEED him at Auburn right now. He had no chance of playing in the fall. Why not send him home to try and get a message across to the kid that he won't put up with his bullshite?

ETA: I take back the 2nd part. I kinda realize what you're saying but I'm standing by the first.

From an Auburn mod:
quote:

Pike has struggled at times since his arrival at Auburn with maturity issues, the most recent incident isn't the first "misstep" if you will, he's made this spring/summer. There have been other internal issues that I think combined with Pike's most recent arrest, culminated in Pike being sent home.

Good for Coach Chizik if true. They obviously weren't getting through to him before. Maybe this will.

It worked for me when Auburn sent my arse home for a semester for partying instead of studying. Came back and actually took my opportunity seriously.

DGAS if posted. Not reading all of this shite. It's on Twitter now that Chizik sent him home and this isn't his first "misstep" whatever that means.

Maybe former NFL player Daddy said "Get your arse home... you and me gonna have a talk."

0.7 followed up with a 0.3. I went home and worked my arse off for minimum wage for the summer and fall of '00...My parents started making me pay bills, insurance and rent which just so happened to equal what I brought home every month. Sometimes you just have to get smacked upside the head.

Hoke said it wasn;t that, it was Chizik saying go home. And the Auburn boards are saying Pike's dad isn't exactly strict, he usually blames other people instead of his son and isn't a great influence, which is why Chizik wanted Zeke to enroll early. TIFWIW

I didn't get sent home but I had my scholly taken away from me for a quarter.

The Navy was like "See this? You don't get it back until you get your act straight."

I got my act straight.
