If you want to argue that the runner was down due to forward progress, then go ahead. That's a valid argument.

But you simply don't know the rule and how it's enforced when its called and you are making yourself look like a complete imbecile trying to pretend you do so there's no point in continuing to argue.

This was the game that many argue changed the rule. In that instance, it wasn’t called but absolutely should have been, and Notre Dame fans were rightfully livid.

That's right, they didn't call it...

So, technically I've never seen the penalty fricking called except in my peewee game.

Its a fricking joke, all around.. being pulled or pushed. The penalty should be eliminated.

The fact you are arguing it as a reason UT shouldn't have been awarded a TD makes you look like a POS troll.

Normally, I like your stuff, but this tangent from you is dumb and you should drop it.

They accepted the penalty to prevent the extra yards and the runner wasn't blown dead where the penalty occurred.

You're so dumb you don't even realize the video I posted was in response to someone asking for a video.

And the best part - it actually showed a time when they let the play continue, but you weren't smart enough to pick up on that either.

You need to up your game if you want to come at me.

I've never seen it declined.

In this case he pulled him from the side rather than in front of him. I didn't even see it happen the first time it was so quick.

The rule exists for the safety of the guy running the ball. You can't have a bunch of people pushing and pulling a guy around like that.

Personally, I think they should make pushing illegal again.

Same thing happens for every other penalty that is declined. Play stands as called on the field.

And when it happens like it did in the Tennessee game, the ball is going to be called down at the spot of the foul. They would not have let the play continue into the end zone.

The fact they called it dead without the penalty pretty much proves it. Forward progress was already in question.

It wouldn't have been a TD for Tennessee pending the result of the flag. It would have been down at the spot of the foul. And it's going to happen like that every time in that situation.

The ball is NOT called down at the spot of the foul.

The video you just posted just showed it wasn’t. Just stop.

There was no end of forward progress. Just stop. If there was then there can't be a penalty. A player pulling his teammate does no stop a player's forward progress instantly.

He was trying to pull him forward! but there wasn't any movment!

Jesus I feel sorry for you

If the refs didn’t say the play was over because of forward progress, but did call the pulling penalty, TN runs into end zone, Perdue accepts the pulling penalty, and they move the ball back X amount of yards for the penalty. Then it’s retry fourth down.

You do realize your own video shows the refs don’t blow a play dead for a pulling penalty, right?

Are you trying to suggest people are dumb if they get information from YouTube?

I don't get your flex. Are you just trying to turn this into another education argument where you try to convince yourself you didn't waste a shitload of money?

Because I mean I fricking love YouTube and have for sure learned tons of shite from watching it. Like I keep a pretty kick arse reef tank and I have learned lots of shite about chemistry and biology while doing it. And there is no way in hell I could have done it without watching YouTube videos. And I'm still constantly learning new things.

Learned how to smoke meat on Youtube.

YouTube wasn't around when I started to learn programmer. Wish it was, that would have been awesome. However I will still use the shite out of it for things. I don't know if you are aware, but over time shite changes and you have to keep learning new things.

Hell you can get entire fricking online classes on topics for free on there.

So yeah, I mean if that shite is wrong and what not, then I guess you got me pegged. Btw, what team did you play for?

I also fricking love WalMart, so feel free to burn me on that as well. I lived in San Jose for a decade where they had just 1 WalMart and it was terrible because they have laws to prevent super walmarts. So I just ended up paying more for the same shite at Target or Safeway.

I think your best bet is to just keep ignoring reality for whatever reason you need too.

/sigh.

I have tried to say multiple times now that it is not a direct link, but rather the simple fact of how the penalty works and what it revolves around.

I realized what the video showed when I posted it. If I wanted to hide it, I wouldn't have posted it. It's an example I didn't previously consider where the guy was more to the side and he never really stopped forward progress.

In the Tennessee game, forward progress was already in question. They would have came at the same time. That is the difference.

The forward progress call was wrong. That the whole god damn point of the argument. The refs blew it. They could’ve gotten it right and tacked on the pulling penalty if they wanted.

You are ignoring that forward progress was already in question. Remember, they called the fricking play dead without the penalty. How in the world does calling the penalty at the same time make it turn into a TD?

Yes of course. It's a situation I didn't think of, but no reason to hide it. It's not like I have an emotional attachment to the game, I'm just in it for the rules debate.
