Literally doesn’t matter what his feet were doing. Forward progress marked. The most awful part about it was that he didn’t call a penalty.

I don’t see the difference between a push or a pull from teammates

They’re assisting you in moving a direction so we need to be consistent at least.

There’s really not much difference in principle, but the rule book distinguishes the two.

I’m sorry your players don’t know how to football and your coaches & fans don’t know the rules.

Get fricked.

your teammate has to start dragging you by your pads, you’re no longer making forward progress. Sorry.

Good call. Good spot. Get over it.

I’m out in Utah with the fam. Logged in while taking a shite and absolutely couldn’t believe the amount of people losing their minds over this. I thought we were learned people around here.

He never should have called progress to begin with. My god refs today let a huge pile of players form on top of 1 guy before they blow the whistle now. It’s the same for having the QB in the grasp. They never call it anymore. Refs gotta let the players play and quit trying to be part of the game. Progress is hardly ever called anymore like it was tonight. So the refs need to stay the hell out of the game and just call the game by the standard they have set for years now.

Player would have been correctly marked down by forward progress and the defense would have declined the penalty.

So you’re arguing he was down by what should’ve been a penalty that wasn’t actually called.

Sounds like forward progress was still going if it wasn’t called.

The ref was too quick with the "call" We are literally watching it in slow mo and he calls it quick.

LINK /

The foul is rarely ever called. Especially on the goal line.

Yalls argument is that both his forward progress was stopped and that there should have been a penalty for pulling.

Watching the replay his body was still moving. He stretched his own arm across. Not 88, so his legs and his arm was still moving and he was laying on a player.

Imo he should have been awarded a td and the penalty should have been called.

I’m saying that forward progress was called correctly when the player began being pulled by his teammate - which aligns with exactly how the rule is written.

But the rule as it’s written is that it’s a penalty, that wasn’t called.

By rule.

What his body is doing becomes irrelevant once he is being pulled by someone else.

That is correct. Start another thread about the blown missed penalty if you’d like.

Herein lies the rub. Technically it’s a penalty and should’ve been called by your logic.

Which would’ve been a replay of the down and another opportunity for Tennessee to get in correct?

Only if it was called a TD for some reason, otherwise you just decline the penalty. Forward progress is over, as called on the field, so pretty much Purdue just declines.

Tennessee was dumb to go for it.

I think most of us can agree on one thing. Any loss by UT is a good loss.
