I would put Tebow as the best offensive player of the decade but I just don't see him as a QB. It is also worth mentioning the Tebow had a little better supporting cast than what Eli had at Ole Miss.

Eli Manning- 138.1 Career Rating, 60.8 Career Completion Percentage, 2.3 to 1 TD-Int Ratio, 84td 36int

Tim Tebow- 176.0 Career Rating, 67.1 Career Completion Percentage, 5.9 to 1 TD- Int Ratio, 88td 15int

I think Tebow can be seen as a better College QUARTERBACK than Eli Manning. Facts are facts, and in a case like this they're very hard to dispute.

Dude, you know people aren't going to go for that. I agree with you 100%, but even though this is a college thread, you know some people are going to start talking about the NFL and Tebow's throwing motion and all that shite. Fact is this, anyone who saw Tebow play knows he was the best qb in the SEC this decade. Others just try to argue for the hell of it, bringing up points that make no sense in this conversation, such as NFL stats and throwing motion. I understand throwing motion in NFL is a big deal, but in college it really doesn't make a difference for a qb like Tebow.

Exactly. I was just trying to dispute someone that was talking out of his arse. This is a thread about the SEC, not the NFL. Eli Manning isn't that good of an NFL QB either if we want to go there. SEC ALL DECADE TEAM FELLAS.

I'm not taking anything away from Tebow and don't have a problem with anyone putting him ahead of Manning but, although there is no way to quantify it, I feel if he had the same type of talent surrounding him that Tebow had he would have put up better numbers.

More speculation. It's impossible to argue this because we simply don't know. I'm looking strictly at facts, and from what I see, it really isn't that close.

This.

Eli didn't have a good(by SEC standards) OL. Didn't have shite for a running game. No Percy Harvin, Aaron Hernandez, etc.

And certainly no respectable defense to allow him more snaps.

You don't want to bring in facts and statistics when discussing All-SEC honors. By these standards, Mallett should have been 1st team All-SEC this past year.

You guys can speculate and make excuses on this topic all you want. Bottom line is, Tebow was a much better SEC QB and it isn't even close.

By statistical standards?

Just makin sure I'm understanding your point on the matter.

Once again, this is about the Decade Team.

On the field as well. You can tell that by completion percentage and TD-Int ratio.

But your holding these honors to different standards.......when they shouldn't be.

Explain... Why would you bring Mallet into this when it's an all decade team? You're trying to hijack the thread and tweak the argument.

first of all....I'm just enjoying how you flipped a lid because somebody didn't pick Tebow. And that the criteria for this posts honor should mirror the same criteria for All-SEC honors........in which, Tebow wouldn't have been 1st team by your standards.

2nd....It's like I said earlier. It all depends on what you want in a QB. I like Eli better as an actual QB. If there were an option for a QB/FB hybrid on the list, Tebow would win hands down.

3rd....this is an post that is open to opinion. and it is my opinion.

I'm not "flipping a lid" because somebody didn't pick Tebow. I'm simply disputing it with factual evidence that proves that myth or opinion incorrect. Once again, this is the All-SEC Decade Team, not the 2009 All-SEC Team.

The ALL-SEC team isn't determined by a certain style or system that a QB plays in. These lists are always put together based on accomplishments, statistics.

I'm telling you your opinion is off base. It's a pure homer opinion with nothing to back it up. It's an opinion that contributed zero facts to the discussion. I left homerism about my team behind when I was 13. Now it's much easier to look at things from a realistic and logical viewpoint when discussing Florida football. You should try?

ok...I'll play

Eli put up some amazing numbers with absolute dick on offense.

Just like P-Willie put up some amazing numbers with absolutely no help on defense.....causing the defense to give up a shite ton of points.

I may be wrong, but I don't think I was Roman Harper on the Alabama squad. He should be.
