Texas got embarrassed this baseball season and seeing multiple SEC in the CWS has them puckered. They know they have to right the ship if they want to compete in their new conference. Texas would absolutely leverage their purse to outspend other conference members, forcing a market adjustment to coaching salaries. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Not really. You stayed in a conference that was evaporating because you made a stupid TV deal under Dodds. I don't care enough to research how Texas profited from the TV deal itself, but you lost out on revenue because no other conference was going to allow that...and the revenue sharing in those conferences was probably better than what you were making on the LHN, which is why you're jumping ship at the expiration of the deal instead of renewing it.
Also, your fans hated it because at this point it's almost impossible to find a provider that will carry it.
The legacy of the LHN was not a good one.

Not sure they got embarassed at all. Baseball hasn't lived up to their standards for a few years and that's about it. Just need to make a good hire because they are going to get good players.
If A&M can pay a dumbass $75M buyout to Jimbo Fisher then you and I know Texas can spend $3-4M a year on a baseball coach if they choose to do so and there won't be any public discussion about it. It will just happen. $3M for a baseball coach is really a cup in the bucket in the scheme of things. $3M is likely to be the norm for elite coaches in 2-3 years anyway.
Not saying Texas is going to spend $3M but they can easily do it if they want to. Some of the posters in this thread that say they won't are simply showing they don't know shite.
