An undetermined settlement and LSU doesn't follow you around.
"I applied for the head coaching position at the following:
Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Penn State, The Raiders, The Giants and the Eagles.
Haven't heard anything back..."
Listen, this is standard for ALL coaches, does ANYONE think they really do anything more than keep their name out there or take a small 'guest' spot or consulting gig on ESPN for $500k. Because that's all that happens LSU -- you get to deduct $500k from your payout that year.
You boys made your bed.

He would be super stupid to work to reduce LSU's payout.
He is going to submit job applications everywhere but get no offer.

It would be great if he volunteered to help recruit Louisiana for another SEC school.

There's nothing in his contract that requires monthly reports. It just says he has to make good faith efforts to find another job. If LSU feels like he's not fulfilling that obligation, they'll have to file suit to get relief.
If LSU tries to make him report monthly, they're probably going to get another lawsuit and end up writing another check.
It'll play out like most high profile coach firings. He'll either take a TV gig or FCS job for a couple of years and then possibly return at a G5 or lower profile P4 program.
