What Franklin did at Vanderbilt was nothing short of miraculous. He took them to a bowl game in each of his three seasons there and had back-to-back 9-win seasons as well as back-to-back AP Top 25 finishes. If not for a last second loss to Ole Miss in the first game of 2013, they finish 10-3 that year.

Exactly. He was wildly successful at Vandy and has been good at Penn State. Of course he would succeed if he came back to the SEC.

Well, I suppose if he's done with the CFL he might have a year of eligibility left . . .
What? There's another James Franklin?

He's probably pretty out of shape and not sure he's got eligibility left.
Not sure it would go well. Best stick with coaching at his age.

I think he would do fine at a school like Florida or South Carolina
South Carolina, yes.
Florida, yes… as long as he isn’t being held to the Spurrier/Meyer standard.

Given where Vandy was (& now is again) & the zero resources he was given, what he did there has to be one of the most underrated jobs in modern CFB.
This. Nothing short of miraculous, in context.

I agree and he has pen state in a “good” place it seems just getting overshadowed by Ohio state and Michigan like it has been for a while.
I think he could do an amazing job at a sec school.
