I guess.

The two hottest names have direct ties to the school/state.

You guys are a dumpster fire and no big name HC is coming your way to have to build from scratch..Yes you have told me about how much money you guys want to throw out..That comment alone says you guys are desperate. No one will make a mid tier program like Ark relevant in 2 years

More attractive job than Bama was in '06, we have no NCAA issues. We lost one really bad game, just like Bama did in 07.

Bama = double wide dumpster fire.

bama was not a dumpster fire because of its tradition of titles etc. Please remind me how many football titles you got that is telling a high profile coach that he has a snow ball's chance in hell of winning one at Ark. the State of Bama has a recruiting base within close proximity of the school...You guys..well not so much

It Petrino couldn't do it
Petrino's mindset doesn't work in the SEC. He will get you W's but just like Arkansas, unless you hire a damn good DC, you're going to be playing Big 12 football in the SEC. We had two of the best QB's this conference has ever seen, the deepest pool of WR's in the nation, the best TE in the nation, had the SEC's leading rusher and still lost 2-3 games against the dominant defenses. Petrino had all the talent he could have ever asked for on offense and it still amounted to 2nd-3rd in our division. He would have to be an OC with a defensive minded HC to succeed in this league.

What was the score the last two times we played? This isn't the 80's anymore. Things change.

I'll answer that for you, since 2006 Arkansas has outscored Tennessee 80-21.

I'm not sold on a good coordinator making a good HC. The functions are different. The HC has to recruit well, make good staff hires (he pays other guys to do X's and O's, if he's doing it, why pay a coordinator), and keep everyone on the same page. If Charlie Strong is a good HC it will be because of those things, not his defensive scheming prowess, imo.

Keeping an eye on does not equal looking for a coach.
