At least you guys have a year to sort this out.

This actually worries me. If this season spirals out of control even more I fear that Long is going to try so bad to get a "name" coach that he will land us with a bad fit. A lot of our fans are clamoring for Steve Mariucci for some strange reason and I think he would be a terrible fit for our program. I can see something like that happening which scares me a bit.

UT has had way more success in the past. Coaches can see that it's possible to win National Championships by just walking around the trophy room.

Not a dig at Arky just answering your question.

Like I said before, Frank Broyles wasn't really that great at hiring coaches or keeping them happy. He was a really good ambassador for our program and he did a lot of great things. But hiring/or keeping good coaches was not necessarily his forte.

Mooch would be awful. 17 year old kids have no idea he coached in the NFL.

I'm not sure who you guys get. Money won't be an issue so I think a younger gun might be the way to go. You guys need someone to get there and stay there to sustain some success.

In the SEC, he did hire Holtz as his replacement then made the smart hire of Hatfield over Johnson, in terms of us not landing on sanctions and probation like the rest of the conference in the 80s...

From Crowe on pure shite, the one time he would have been right, he was over ruled by the chancellor.

Mooch is such a likeable guy, it would be hard for me to root against Arky which is strange because it was so incredibly easy to root against you with Petrino.

He would be a risky hire, could turn out great could be a huge clusterfrick.

Bigger concern is being an analyst since 2005 and only two years of college experience, one as an OC and the other as HC of Cal.

But Frank could really piss 'em off.

Which one was that? I'm just having a hard time remembering.

Funny, do you know how many coaches have left on their own the past 50 years?

Arky hasn't done enough in the last fifty years for a coach to get a better offer. Holtz left for Minnesota.

It's been more the much tougher SEC than lack of coaching. Arky rarely beat good teams while in SWC.

Holtz got fired, and THEN took a job with Minnesota.

You're full of shite but I'll give you credit before you bring this up...

I'll bet stAte is drooling, but they're gonna miss their big chance this year to actually have a chance of ever beating us.

False.

Holtz left the Jets for Arkansas, during the NFL season no less.

He was fired from Arkansas.

in 3. Strong is a great coach but I fear his future is Knoxville.
