Sun Bowl and El Paso are definitely cool. The problem there now is the proximity to Juarez. Used to not be an issue, but now I want to be nowhere near Juarez.

El Paso is actually one of the safer cities in Texas. Cartels are made of up businessmen. Not terrorists. They know if they start kidnapping tourists, they are gonna have a bad time.

Just don’t cross the border...

Detroit is a metro with 4.3 million people. Sure its cold and sure they city has seen better days, but with that many people there are always things to do and good food to eat. There are areas of Detroit that are actually very nice... Grosse Pointe... some of the northern suburbs... etc.

Birmingham too has a very good food scene and several decent hotels. Obviously Legion Field is a dump but many of these other cities also have dumpy stadiums in rough neighborhoods without the food scene that Birmingham offers.

Memphis is a lot like Birmingham. If Barbecue is your thing, then it offers quite a bit.

Mobile and Montgomery have got to be the worst. There's just not much to do in those cities this time of year.

I believe the absolute shittiest bowl in America right now is the BElK bowl.

Mobile would be much better than Birmingham. Shreveport would be bad as well. At least in Detroit you play in a nice stadium

How so? If it were warm and fans could enjoy the beach, I might agree. But the typical weather for the Gulf this time of year is the Low 60s.... far too cold to properly enjoy the beach.

From a city perspective, Birmingham offers far more.

I agree with the folks who say Legion Field needs to be torn down

Grew up in Memphis, city has absolutely nothing to offer besides BBQ and blues music. The Liberty Bowl stadium is a shite smelling dump that needed to have a wrecking ball taken to it 10 years ago.

You serious or trolling? Charlotte is an awesome city with a ton to do, and BoA is a great place to take in a game. Only thing that sucks about CLT is the abundance of Clemsonites there.

At least you're inside a dome and can forget about the neighborhood for a few hours.
