I think hockey is a great sport for those who grew up in climates with freezing temperatures 6 months of the year. Did you grow up in the south? Were you that weird kid with no friends who went inside with his hockey jersey on when we went to a field for a pickup game of baseball?

I'd probably watch this before baseball. Baseball is fun to play, but I just don't see how it's fun to watch except for once or twice a year.. if you're at the actual game, with friends and drinks.
eta- maybe not... not to sure about watching folks "bump broomsticks"...

Born and raised in central Alabama. Didn't really give hockey a chance until I was a Jr in college, but it's turned into my favorite sport. I grew up playing baseball, basketball, and soccer.

That's actually about the time I quit paying attention to baseball. I quit watching baseball shortly after the big Mcgwire/Sosa home run race.

I lived down the street from the baseball stadium my freshman year at UA and didn't go to any of the games.

I think hockey is an awesome sport, probably would have loved it if I wouldn't have grown up where the average temperature is 70 degrees in January.
I just don't understand why Bama fans feel the need to put down baseball and then turn around and try to convince a bunch of southern guys on a site dedicated to SEC sports that hockey, gymnastics, and softball are much better. OK...I'm lying..I do know why you do it. Everyone does.
