Noted.

I'm sure Monte will make no changes to his defensive scheme to fit the college game. The guy is an empty suit.

That defense or similar versions are all over college ball. That defense goes back decades.

Chizik and Saban have influences of it in their defense, just to name a few.

he's been out of the college game for damn near 30 years

what makes you think that it will be so easy for him to adjust....or what makes you think that he is in a particulary better situation than DCs that have been in the college game for years or other DC's already in the SEC???

i dont see how many can say they are upgrading with the monte hire, without giving it any thought whatsoever

They're trying to work on the "Tampon2" as you call it by recruiting/signing personnel who can play that system. They'll have to work, as best they can, with UT's current defensive group until they get the athletes they need.

It's all about speed and aggressive tackling in the "Tampon2." Tennessee will need a quick defensive line that can pressure the QB on their own and LB's who know where to be at all times.

I don't follow the NFL but Kiffin supposedly had some pretty good defenses at Tampa Bay.

Their new staff will endure a learning process to find out what their kids can and can't do.

I'm sure their assistants will have some ideas and they'll do some blending.

Just like our staff.

The handshake at midfield after UF hangs 87 points on them should be interesting.

Yeah, it should be enough.

And I fully expect the Gator D to get a shutout.

Going to be interesting to see what happens. Monty has been running a more aggressive style of a Tampa-Two in recent years, even experimenting with zone blitzing and 3-4 looks.

Now, how much teaching is left in the coach is yet to be seen. Coaching professionals is different from 18 to 22 year olds, many growing up mentally and physically right before your eyes.

Key question is how long can Monty hold out so he can turn the reins over to a new coach? Can the young Kiffin make the offense work fast enough before the Tenn fans get tired of his mouth.

Eventually, your arse has to cash the checks your mouth writes.

All he said, to a bunch of UT fans by the way, was that they'll be singing Rocky Top all night after they beat Florida this year. *gasp*

To appease non-UT fans everywhere he should have just said, to a bunch of UT fans by the way, "We hope to be competitive with UF again during my tenure."

One thing Meyer is good at is running up the score and since he now has a REASON to run up the score, tebow and the gayturds might get 87 by the end of the first half

Apparently he wasn't familiar at the time he said that with what UF has coming back next fall.

UF should slice through the VOls like a hot knife through butter.
