Man, you guys just don't seem to understand what it's like to lose a premier back -- let alone two. If you Georgia fans, let's not even talk about other positions right now, just RB.

Do you guys honestly think there will be zero drop off between Michel/Chubb to your other running backs??

I think that depends on how well Holyfield and Herrien have progressed because Swift will be fine. Then you also have to see how Zamir recovers though I will think they’ll limit his carries.

Obviously there will be a slight drop off because Nick and Sony were amazing but one thing UGA has done time and time again is load up on RBs.

You Georgia fans really do think you are Bama because of one good season..

The cockiness is insanely premature.

Many coaches have strong second years. Smart isn't Saban, you aren't Bama. So let's drop the "we are a dynasty" attitude till you prove you are consistently a playoff contender.

Sure we have a good idea. Remember when Gurley got followed by Chubb? The dropoff in rushing production wasnt much, if any at all.

Point is, whatever the dropoff may be will likely be less than you think it will be, and having an established Qb for the 1st time since 2013 will help counter whatever dropoff it is.

''After two modest performances in narrow victories, Chubb sprained his ankle in game 4 against Ole Miss and was used sparingly over the next five games. Georgia went 1-4 in that period, the sole victory coming over South Carolina behind Chubb's 121 yards and two touchdowns (along with Sony Michel's 133 yards).''

Weird how your team collapsed last year after losing Chubb but it won't actually happen next year. We'll see I guess, but you guys are counting a frick ton of chickens before they've hatched.

Before super stud and possible NFL MVP Gurley got suspended in 2014:

154.6 YPG over 5 games

Enter 4th string true freshman Nick Chubb:

159.1 YPG over the next 13 games (through his injury in 2015)

Sorry straws, not seeing the massive dropoff you predicted. Maybe it is possible for a 5 star stud to replace a 5 star stud afterall.

Whoever wrote this is an idiot without any rational perspective, and I can only imagine how awful the rest of it is. Can I get a link to this?

1. UGA went 2-3 in the 5 games after Ole Miss, not 1-4.

2. The only game Chubb was used "sparingly" in was game 5, and we ran the ball better in that game than we did in games 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8. Where was the dropoff in game 5 you are talking about?

3. We lost games 4, 7 and 8 with Chubb as the #1 Rb, so how did we "collapse" in these games because we lost Chubb if we didnt lose Chubb?

You also seem to lack perspective like the source of your info. Our 2016 team wasnt good with or without Chubb. We didnt run the ball well with or without Chubb. Football is a team game and the outcome of a game is dictated by many factors well beyond a single RB.

and this is premature for you to post this. Maybe he is the next one maybe he isn’t. Only time will tell. A whole lot of wishful posting going on up in this thread.

Tailback is the position that UGA doesn't worry about.

We lose a first year starter at left tackle. We have 2 back to back amazing recruiting classes on the OL and the best OL coach in college football (see how well our LG slid over to LT this season).

Any drop off at RB can be negated by better OL play for both the run game and passing game.

Just remember this name. Swift. He can get his as a runner or receiver.

ou're losing a bunch of seniors, Chubb and Michel. You're going to take a step back.

We actually think our offense will be better. We have Swift, Holyfield, White, Cook and Herrien. Our Oline will be better, and our WR's will be better.

Our defense will take a step back but are hearing rumors a couple of guys we thought would be leaving might come back, so the step back might not be as dramatic as we first thought...but the defense probably will be worse.

About as much as we saw when we lost Gurley and Marshall.

Why? because we think we will have a good season? Nobody is predicting another playoff run, but I would say Georgia is closer to returning to the playoffs than Florida is to going.

Was just thinking the same thing about Florida fans.

Georgia apparently has so many question marks for next year that Kirby has left the door open for Natrez Patrick to return. A guy who has already had 6 or 7 incidents involving drugs, and a guy who is currently out in some drug rehab program. Obviously going for the Honey Badger's record of most drug incidents before finally being kicked off the team

We’re goong to take a step back, sure, but not on offense. Defense will lose its 3 best LBs, it’s NT, and it’s FS. There’s a ton of talent at the ready to replace those pieces but there’s no guarantee it clicks like it needs to in 2018.

UGA in 2019 is going to be absolute hell on wheels though...

He has had 2 incidents with weed and failed a test for opiates and alcohol. Rather then kick him to the curb, Kirby did the responsible thing and saw that the kid went to rehab. A weed habit is one thing but when an addictive personality starts messing with opiates and booze then that’s a problem that someone needs to help the individual address.

But keep on talking out of your arse, Phan.

Kirby has used all kind of technicalities to keep this piece of shite on the team.

A recent arrest for drugs should have been enough to get him expelled from school....except the charges were mysteriously dropped.

The guy still apparently failed a drug test after the arrest, but Kirby has turned a blind eye to that test since it wasn't administered by Georgia

The kid is basically Honey Badger Jr

More like he cares about winning and will do almost anything to accomplish that. Kind of like his mentor shorty Saban

Why even respond to him?
He's just rustling jimmies.
He's so left field, it isn't even worth the effort.
