This story still has a ton of dots to connect.

So I guess Peterson's statement on the matter derails the LSU smear campaign of a few idiot barner fans...all negative attention may be returned where is belongs...ALL IN!

WTF does Arkansas have to do with this? We aren't paying players or even being accused of doing so.

Arkansas fans are some of the primary instigators of all the recruiting scandal flames. Why? Because similar to everything else surrounding your school and program, you feel insufficient, and try to find reasons why other programs should be brought down (this raising yourselves up). Like it or not, that describes the typical Arkansas fan on the SEC Rant. That abortion of a game ya'll played against tOSU didn't help the inferiority complex at all.

Yea, I'm sure you have facts to back this up.

Read the next sentence I wrote. The punishment we doled out to DJ McCarthy for a relatively unimportant rules infraction is evidence that Les Miles would never become involved in, or hire coaches who would become involved in, pay-for-play.

What the frick?

You're just deflecting the attention off of the recruiting scandal, and pointing it towards another fanbase. Simple as that. Arkansas doesn't have a fricking thing to do with this. AT ALL. You're looking for a scapegoat.

Unimportant? Didn't LSU get docked scholarships because of that?

LSU self-reported and self-imposed punishments to let the NCAA know we take this seriously.

Big difference.

It doesn't sound like it was just a camp visit, but maybe so. FYI, the friend in the below quote is reportedly Lyles.

quote:

"I visited Texas A&M the other day," said the 6-foot-1, 193 pound prospect. "My dad and I were in Houston visiting one of his friends and he suggested that we go look at A&M.

"Everything there was great. The facilities were the best I had seen of anywhere that I've been this summer. But I really liked their academic program the best. They really stressed that a lot and let me know that I was there to get my degree first. That's important to me."

where was the camp?
I believe he and his dad attended the rising stars camp on the west coast. That is where he solidified himself as the #1 CB. On the way back they stopped by A&M on a spur of the moment thing. He did not tour the campus or take an official visit.

Hell, PP7 was an early commit to Miami but a losing season got him looking around for a better fit. I don't know the exact date of the summer trip where he stopped by A&M but he was likely committed to Miami at the time of the visit.

Later, he took all 5 of his official visits between Oct and Dec of 2007. I think his officials were to UF, LSU, UGA, UNC and FSU and he was quoted back then saying his mom went on all of his official visits to help him find the best fit for him.

Hey Pig:

Not one LSU fan on here is saying LSU's shite doesn't stink. It likely does things shady like most schools do.

Claiming LSU didn't pay $80k for one athlete to come play (when it hasn't been substantiated by anyone other than desperate AU posters grasping at straws) does not equal LSU is the cleanest program in the country.

Well I am gonna look at the brightside from the worst standpoint to make things not seem so bad.

If we did pay PP7 , atleast we outbid the likes of A&M, FL, Alabama, UM, USC, and many others

Former LSU assistant coach Earl Lane, who handled Peterson's recruitment, said he did not have dealings with Lyles in the recruiting process in an interview with ESPN's Joe Schad.

"There's a lot of rumor and innuendo," said Lane, who has been out of coaching for the past two years. "But I believe in doing things the right way and on the up and up." Lane said he's heard of Lyles but "if the guy walked right in front of me right now I wouldn't know who he is."

Lane said neither Peterson nor his father ever brought up money and never mentioned anyone else who had. Lane said Peterson reneged on a commitment to Miami after visiting with LSU academic staff and experiencing a Saturday night game at LSU. "It was overwhelming for him and his parents," Lane said.

"Anytime you have a top ranked player who goes to another school there will be some sour grapes and things said." Lane recruited some of the best players in the SEC this decade including Peterson, Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson, but said he's left coaching for the past two years to care for his father.
