No..... your university just handed out not two months ago $6000 for a DVD to the Willie "da Agent" Lyles. Ya know the guy that is already under investigation for funneling players to college programs.

:OMG:

They paid $6000 to a scouting service. You should look up the list of schools that pay money to scouting services....including Lyles'....its pretty long. 6 grand ain't nothing.

Auburn had former players, some very prominent, put their own school on blast 12 hours ago...

Check my math......does:

1 Cam Newton = 2 Patrick Petersons + 3 Will Lyles DVDs

quote:

Do you guys realize who is behind all of these Will Lyles articles along with the street agent articles and such targeting LSU, Auburn and Oregon (and to a lesser extent A&M)? Texas.

Along with the Queen of England & Colonel Sanders

quote:

Their shine has worn off, they aren't recruiting as well

Texas just had a top 5 class and already has 13 stud recruits for the next class.

quote:

Mack and the Burnt Orange Machine are trying like crazy to paint any school in a negative light that goes up against them in recruiting.

Everyone else seems to be fricking up just fine on their own.

quote:

Frank Denhuis and other large Texas boosters are the worst offenders of paying players. Denhuis sends players through banks with checks made out to cash.

I'm sure you have loads of proof.

quote:

This goes beyond Football too.... Texas has the Findlay Prep Basketball team on payroll by paying for thier room and board at Findlay Prep.

So.....you have this all figured out but the media is unable to put the pieces together?

quote:

I'm not saying Texas deals with Lyles. I believe they don't anymore, although they have in the past. I think Texas realizes that people like Lyles hurts Texas more than it helps them, so therefore, all of the sudden, they realize its bad for Texas, and they want them gone.

Texas will not recruit a player that Lyles handles. Applewhite has publicly called Lyles out for being a street agent.

This is a stretch, even by typical crazy/jealous Aggie standards.

Oh the irony. I guess since A&M offered 80k LSU offered more right? That seemed to be the collective thinking from LSU fans here on the rant.

Complete Scouting Services is a newly created one-man business. It is comical that anyone can think that Lyles can travel all over the country filming kids, interviewing high school coaches and videoing games when he also claims to be a trainer who is always working out/training/interacting with kids.

There are legit scouting services.....Lyles' services isn't one of them.

Again....this may be new to you guys but this is old news to everyone else. Google "Will Lyles" and you will see articles & message board threads going back years about him. He has been banned from a lot of Texas high schools for years.

LSU.....Self imposed sanctions for 2009 recruiting violations? Still waiting for NCAA to rule?

As the Bayou Burns thread?

The precedent has been set for anything prior to 2010. any allegation of someone requesting money on behalf of a player but the player didn't know, is not a violation prior to 2010.

That's partially true but there's a disclaimer:

If money changed hands it doesn't matter if the player knew or not. The goal is to punish the school not the kid. If a school or one of it's representatives provides illegal benefits to someone, it doesn't matter if the player knew or not.

Look at the Albert Means case - Bama got hammered, but Means was allowed to transfer to Memphis and continue to play without having to sit out a year, because Means had no idea his h.s. coach was shopping him.

So step 1 = see if money was exchanged.

That's where the Cam investigation fell apart. The NCAA dug into all the financial records. They looked at everything - the entire Newton family bank accounts, the church, payments on their run down house, everything Cam did and had at Auburn - everything. They couldn't find any evidence of unexplained money. If somebody gave Cecil a bunch of money (and nobody disputes that he asked for it), it was in cash and he buried it somewhere safe and didn't spend any of it. What's the NCAA supposed to do, grab shovels and start digging holes in his back yard?

Without a money trail you got nothing. Because then you're left with just mere solicitation and the player can always use the "Cam defense" - (ie, I had no idea). Now that may not seem credible (as many doubt Cam) but the NCAA is just not going to go down the road of accusing these 20 year old kids that they make millions off of being liars. This isn't a court or a corporation...it's a bunch of kids who play football. If they say something the NCAA will probably just take them at their word unless there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

So HERE is the problem for LSU. People are going to start digging into financial records. And by people I mean the media and the NCAA. If Lyles has an unexplained $80,000 deposit in one of his bank accounts, that's a problem. Also, didn't Petersen's mom and siblings move to Baton Rouge after he signed with LSU? If so why, and where did she work? Who paid the rent and utilities on the house? All of this stuff is easy to uncover. It's pretty easy to check things like tax records, utility payments, etc.

You've got the coon hounds on your trail now and they won't stop. As an Auburn fan, good luck and have fun.
