Auburn reminded me of Florida last season with their offense.
The scheme was contained well, but there was still a significant talent deficit, so Auburn was able to score points in spite of the scheme...

This is destroying your lack-of-depth, youthful defense.

Decent, but oh so overrated.

Just been trolling the Auburn boards.
Looks like Malzahns' stock is dropping fast.
Visit a Bama board after a loss. Your coaches will be getting questioned too. Trying to get a finger on the pulse of a program's fan base after a loss is just ridiculous.

Hell, it don't even take a loss.

Haters gonna hate.
This year is gonna test the "Family Bond" on the plains.

He's good at recognizing what play to go with in most situations, and he can do it FAST. That along with giving a defense looks which get them moving the wrong way to set up big plays are his strengths.
As was said however, he's got one speed that works, flat out, anything else and it doesn't work very well.
When you have a mediocre to lousy (I'm being kind with the mediocre) defense, the best thing you can do sometimes is not put them on the field, particularly not putting them back on the field 40 sec after they just left with a 3 and out.
It's hard to make adjustments during the game and coaching guys on mental errors they're making when you just flat don't have time to do it.
His inability to adjust what he's doing in order to improve the chances of the team doing better tells me he may not be all that great a head coach. You get a 2nd and short, don't tell me you can't wait and let the play clock tick down a bit at the line of scrimmage at times to give your defense a bit more rest before running a play.
I'm sure he'll get the chance somewhere, but his star is shining a bit less brightly right now.

He is only productive in a hurry up no huddle pace. This is destroying your lack-of-depth, youthful defense.
All the while, the yards per play for Malzahn and the points actually score by the offense (not D and Special Teams) is turrible. Malzahn is a tiddly bit overrated. Decent, but oh so overrated.
I could not possibly disagree more with any of this.

I hope he'll be coaching at Ole Miss next year.
It isn't like Auburn isn't scoring 40 points a game this year. Defense is awful.

Thank you for putting your ignorance of football on display today.
The fact is that even the Auburn broadcast team critcized Malzahn's play calling at times tonight while the game was still close, so the OP's question isn't so outrageous.

His offense still looks pretty damn good.
It managed 23 pts against defensive juggernaut FAU
2 TDs and 3 FGs

Two major points:
Any team running this style of Offense will not have a great Defense.
Defenses are onto what Malzahn does now and have adjusted.
