They could honestly be very very tasty this year and scary next year. Butch really is just a car salesman. If they had a good coach, they would be wrecking right now

If he went anywhere it wouldn't be to Tennessee.

And we all know why.

Tennessee's athletic department announced Friday that its financial reserve fund is up to $6.9 million following the 2014-15 fiscal year, but the Vols' reserve balance remains the lowest among all SEC schools.

Location, fan base, tradition, recruiting, money, great conference, good players, fantastic program.

Lots of reasons.

Monticello is right. Within an approximately 250 mile radius of Knoxville you have Atlanta, Nashville, Cincinnati, Charlotte, and several metro area with a half million people.

UT may not be the school of choice in all those, but they can fight for second or third. Proximity to talent is not an issue for UT.

The Carolinas are especially fertile, populous, convenient, and NC has no dominant collegiate competitor.

Here's the thing, the football coach is a tiny fraction of the overall operating budget. We were in the red for several years due to things that cost significantly more than football coaches, those projects are either complete or near completion, which will free up significant revenue, very soon. More than enough to tell Jones to frick off.

Now, 3 years ago, we couldn't afford to go after a big name, that's not the case now.

Let's just cut to the chase...

...and we see there are worse positions to be than Tennessee's...
