More recent natty, more recent natty appearance, more recent sec title, more titles overall, better head to head record. We definitely suck now and there aren't many auburn fans under any other delusion but Florida has definitely matched us suck for suck

I guess we’ll just have to make do with the coach we ended up with. Best of luck to sumrall in his future endeavors

I'm sure UF is sort of like us in that they'll celebrate any departure from the slog of the last few years. Personally, I had major reservations about Sumrall's schtick and how credible it would be with SEC elite talent, but I won't pretend to know whether he'll work at UF or not.
I think Sumrall got cold feet at AU because UF pivoted and gave him another big option and he started believing the narrative about AU meddling too much. I don't think it was any major fault of Kiffin, I think people are reading into that joke too much. Kiffin was going to take the same job too and he didn't balk because of "meddling."
I don't believe the Cohen/Durkin thing at all and none of the credible writers have agreed with it. I do think Cohen probably said that roster retention was really important to us considering Hugh/Cohen hadn't really invested much into signing day this year. Essentially - if keeping Durkin isn't something you're interested in, give me your pitch for how you'll retain kids on the D side of the ball.
But we just saw a pretty touch and go situation with Golesh/Durkin, so I don't think there is much truth that it was a package deal. I think either Golesh or Durkin could have cut bait this week.
