re: Why is UCF fans so butthurt over the championship?

It's a publicity stunt, but not to expose anything. They wouldn't give a frick if they didn't go undefeated. They're just calling attention to their school. It's a mediocre state school that's nobody's dream to attend. They mostly get kids who didn't have what it takes to get into better schools. Basically Florida's equivalent of Boise State. And, like Boise, they get quite a few good athletes that couldnt hack admissions at Power 5 schools but don't want to go the JUCO route. So this is a rare chance to actually get attention and maybe even get recruits who pick them first rather than by default. It's borderline pointless because the coach who pulled it off is gone, but I guess they can be forgiven for trying
