Why is there this myth of Muss as some kind of great talent developer?

Arkansas doesn't send players to the NBA. Despite having one of the highest payrolls in the league, Muss has only produced 1 first rounder and 3 second rounders since he's been at Arkansas. Texas has produced 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders in the same time period.
Arkansas's history of sending players to the league is pretty abysmal too despite them calling themselves a "blue blood". Since 2000 -- 4 first rounders (
) and 5 second rounders. Texas has produced 15(!!
!!) first rounders and 7 second rounders.
The only reason to go to Arkansas is for the bag, period. You will not get developed into an NBA prospect.

And all those first round players are what’s winning Texass all those titles I guess?

Muss got outcoached by our interim coach

Muss is known for teaching NBA basketball IQ.

I’m just glad these new guys coming into the conference don’t care about Arkansas

I agree, no other school should try and hire him. Leave him to rot in Fayetteville.

Quite the melt for 5:44 in the AM. Save some for the rest of the day

At 5:44AM in the morning, all you can think about is Arkansas.
Geesh.
Geesh.

It’s hilarious when Arkansad fans try and prop up his NBA pedigree. Dude was a terrible NBA coach. He inherited talented teams that only got progressively worse the longer he coached them, and then got better without him after he got fired.

I mean, he was second in voting for NBA Coach of the Year to Greg Popovich…
OP, he’s about to have 2 more lottery picks this year… I think he’s doing okay.

That would sound impressive without any context. I wonder why you didn’t provide any?
Maybe bc he went 38-44 that season. He got pity votes, bc the Warriors had been a dead franchise for a decade at that point and he had them looking serviceable midway through the season. Until the late season collapse, sound familiar Arkansad fans?
Their record got worse over the next 2 seasons, and then he got fired when it became clear how much talent he had and how badly he was underachieving with it
He was so respected in the NBA that he only lasted 1 season in Sacramento on his comeback tour

And yet, two NBA teams hired him to coach. We don't have to "prop up his NBA pedigree". He actually has one.
Nobody is claiming he was amazing as an NBA coach, but he does have one thing going for him most college coaches don't... actual experience in the role.

Muss' worst season finish here so far has been a Sweet 16 (in 2020 there was no tourney).
He's doing better than anybody else in the league in the post-season right now. I understand why folks are angry about it.

Who has your current coach developed?
Here is Muss list in his 8 years of college
Caleb Martin ( bout to get that bag)
Isiah Joe
Moses Moody
Jaylin Williams
Anthony Black
Nick Smith
Ricky Council
Jordan Walsh
I’m sure I have missed 1-2
*Thanks for Ron Holland again

Never heard of them…and I’ve heard of EVERYBODY.

Hahahaha
Isiah Joe led the NBA in 3 point percentage this year
Martin was close to winning Eastern conference MVP
Jaylin Williams played a ton of minutes for OKC as a rookie
Moody played a ton of minutes in the playoffs for the warriors
We have two first rounders this year and two second rounders

Bowl is so upset everyone that covers college or basketball knows Muss is a better coach than the sweat pit in Auburn. Auburn has had 1 good year in 20 years. 1 time out the first weekend in 20 years lmao

Our current coach ain't developing any NBA talent

Dude didn't do anything until he got to Miami. J Cole had a bigger impact than Muss

No he didn't

12.5 PPG on 37.6% shooting at Arkansas, and you call this development?

The rest of your list is completely irrelevant. The fact that you have to highlight that Muss can produce rotation players is hilarious.

And this is yet another reason why I can't wait to beat Texass on the regular. WPS

If you count Texas as in the SEC, as of right now we just outperformed y'all in the tourney.
If you're considering recent performance, Beard has done better than Muss.
Rick Barnes and Calipari have sent more talent to the NBA than Muss.
