This is the perfect season to discuss the playoff expansion.

I expect the field will be UGA, Ohio State, TCU, and USC...
you could easily swap 12-1 Clemson in for USC. Or Michigan in for Ohio State.
LSU could play loose and easy, UGA tightens up, and LSU wins and gets in at 11-2.

Alabama, for all the grief we're giving them, is 2 plays from being undefeated and probably the #2 seed. They'd be the classic "don't want them in the first round" opponent, I'd think UGA would be the only team favored to beat them.

I have been a vocal opponent of expanding the playoffs, but I agree with you. This season would be a good time for it to be expanded. I still don't think 12 is necessary. 8 seems about right. I could see: (No order)

Georgia
LSU
Tennessee
OSU
Michigan
TCU
Clemson
USC

These could make for interesting games.

Forgot about Alabama, and I agree as well. Two losses on the road by 3 points could get them in....so maybe a 10 team playoff?
