I remember reading that board last year during the realignment push.

They are beyond bizarre. The overnight hatred for Mizzou was about as childlike a thing I have seen from a fan base in a long while.

Aggies and Mizzou-you are going to resort to talking about baseball?

Baseball is 2nd in the SEC to football. Basketball is getting there, but the SEC has the last 3 national champions in baseball and usually has at least 3 CWS teams.

Most SEC baseball stadiums have 4-5 times WVU's capacity at a minimum. Some have 10x.

Correct. I mean I guess I would be mad if I had to take somebodies conference spot that they did not want.

The delusion is strong in those posters. Its sad how all of The other "big 12" fans over there are loser ksu and ku fans. I think they're starting to realize their only shot to stay out of the mwc is the viability of the big 12.

How in the world does ACC say 3rd tier money goes to conference in football (see FSU, Clemson) but not basketball (see all Carolina schools). Is this a deliberate suicide attempt?

I agree. That sounds completely ridiculous. I would imagine VA Tech would be pretty pissed about that as well

I cant imagine if Clemson and Florida State leave Virginia Tech wouldnt be looking around, especially to us.

If the first part happens, I can see the supposed 'gentleman's agreement between Slive/Swofford being off and VT be given a serious look. Slive has stated he wants to stay east if expansion goes to 16.

It is sort of like when a girl finally dumps her abusive boyfriend. The first thing he does is start telling his friends about how she is a slut and is glad she's gone.

Beamer wants no part of the SEC. If CU and FSU leave he has an even easier path to the BCS, playoff, etc.

True, assuming there remains such a thing as an AQ. My understanding is that AQ status may well be a thing of the past as of 2014. Major bowls will be allowed to invite whoever they choose except for those tied to playoff. This still might benefit VT though judging by last years ridiculous Sugar Bowl matchup.

Unless he has stated publicly, that is an interesting thought. But I would have to think that VT would realize with the strength of their conference severely weakened that it would still be more difficult to get into the 4-team playoff. I would think that a 1 loss team from the SEC or Big Ten would be equivalent if not given more clout than a undefeated VT that played nobody in conference.

From that website:

quote:

I didnt vote but it rivals the SEC or is not far behind. I actually like the Big 12 better just because of the pairity of the league. The Big 12 is actually an oddity because its such a balanced league. Who else can claim that title? The SEC is top heavy.

9 of the last 12 Big 12 titles have been won by either Oklahoma or Texas. Only two times in 15 years did a team other than Texas or OU represent the South in the conference title game and that team is now in the SEC. 12 of the 15 North appearances in the title game are by teams no longer in the Big 12. That seems like a very top heavy league to me imo.

Unless crappy teams are considered a balanced league.

They're so delusional. In a span of 5 minutes, you will hear a Texas fan argue that A&M will be lucky to win a single conference game in the SEC, the Big 12 is just as strong as the SEC, and TCU and WVU will fare considerably better than us and Mizzou and they will have no real adjustment to make. All of which contradict each other.

I don't disagree at all when they say that we will struggle, but when you add in the other two, give me a break

In all fairness to them, they are from West Virginia. Using facts and data makes it a mismatched debate.

That site is a joke. But its really good for comedy. Ill stop by sometimes if I need to hear outlandish claims.

Haven't you heard?! TCU will be Texas' marquee game on Thanksgiving!! The whole state will be divided. Millions will tune in to watch this historic matchup. TCU's 50,000 capacity stadium will have 15,000 strong horned frog fans. Oh wait, if this even happens Texas will of course do its usual and jew everybody. They will probably never play an away game during Thanksgiving.
