Because Birmingham and Atlanta care more about Bama than AU. Miss St or Ole Miss are two no draws. Might as well pick the #2 team.

Because Saban had a pity party about their 11 am game and CBS gave him a handjob by placing them in the 3:30 game against Ole' Miss so he wouldn't be mad for now. Kentucky - South Carolina game would be more of a contest than this upcoming butt whooping.
