Disagree. People hated Cam b/c they thought he was bought and he came across as arrogant (not saying he is/was, but he came across that way at times). I think people respected his abilities.

People hated TM7 because he was a bit over-hyped. He was/is good, but he had some obvious limitations that were overlooked by many while they were busy creating this "Honey Badger" persona.

I know people hate on Manziel b/c of his talent, but there have been other talented people that weren't hated on. I think the hate for him is based around what people want him to act like compared to what he is acting like. It's his life, though. Let him do his thing. He'll mature and be humbled eventually. Let him have fun now.

(and, for the record, I think he has a good season, but not spectacular this year. He and A&M will learn it is a tough conference once teams have an idea of how to gameplan for you. A&M finishes 2nd or 3rd in the West and Manziel finishes like 5th in the Heisman, IMO)

So setting the SEC Total O record and winning the Heisman as a Freshman is good but no spectacular? Damn you grade on a tough curve.

FWIW, the haters have plenty more to get upset about coming up soon. JFF is about to release a video with the Dude Perfect guys from A&M where he is throwing footballs through a basketball hoop from the top of Kyle Field and will be on Duck Dynasty playing golf with those guys. Johnny also doesn't give a shite in the slightest what other people think he should be doing, he's just living his life and doing his best to have as much fun as possible within the rules.

He's just a unique situation of an immensely talented guy who is smart and rich and well spoken but really isn't concerned with his image which actually ends up making his image bigger. It is hard not to be jelly of the guy though, I mean is there another human being on the planet having more fun than he is right now?

i believe he was talking about this upcoming season not the past one. and i tend to agree with him that manziel won't be as potent as he was this past season.
