He may say that, but I don't buy it- and I doubt Jimbo does either.

LSU base offense seems to be Burrow in the shotgun with a RB, 3 WRs and a TE. Default play seems to be quick slant, crossing route or out, and if the defense drops out of the box, that goes to an off-tackle run out of the gun; conceptually a "play-action run". Actually can be quite effective, but we've had trouble with the line holding up, and trouble with the WRs dropping what should be easy completions.

People are bashing Ensminger, but conceptually the scheme should work. Burrow's accurate enough to keep the chains moving, most teams don't believe LSU will actually throw, and the defense should tire out constantly pass-rushing. Like I said, the problem is that the line has been having difficulty holding up, and Burrow's probably losing 4 completions a game (at least) to drops.
